Met Bar & Grill (Dedham)

I had been to the Met Burger Bar twice at the Natick Collection ans had two different great burgers. I really enjoyed "The Farm" with applewood smoked bacon, Cabot cheddar and a fried egg.

I just went to the new Met at Legacy Place in Dedham. Fair warning: it is not the same "Met Burger Bar". My burger seemed to be about a 1/4lb (instead of what seemed to be about a 1/3lb in Natick) and the worst part was that there wasn't any visual or taste evidence that it had been flame broiled. It looked at tasted like it had been baked. If it hadn't been for the Maytag blue cheese that was on it, it would've been inedible. I'm certain that they didn't use the same custom vertical broiler that was used in Natick. One sign is that the "M" wasn't imprinted in the burger.

Thanks.

Any good?

LiL Ole, Soft Opening, Tasty Stuff

I've been a fan of Tacos Lupita's tortas for years. Olecito's are even better!

Best Beer Store in Boston?

I tend to do a lot of things spontaneously and don't plan ahead. Yes, the "grab and go" is an option that I like a lot.

Best Beer Store in Boston?

Braineater:

Did you take over for Nick? He did a great job and you haven't missed a beat. I have been buying beer from your store for a few years. I was not knocking you guys at all. I was just pointing out that for a craft beer fan like myself, the selection at Provisions is excellent.

Best Beer Store in Boston?

Good call. I don't make it to Davis Sq. very often but when I'm in the area I usually go Downtown. Good place, again virtually all the good stuff is warm.

Publick House Provisions

$10.19 is definitely a lot for Brooklyn Lager. It used to be in the $8 range elsewhere but that was before the prices of groceries and a lot of other goods skyrocketed due to the freight costs to deliver the product.

Besides being a little overpriced, I find Public House Provisions to be the best beer store in Boston. The selection is excellent and everything is in coolers. I tend to do things spontaneously and appreciate being able to pick up cold craft beer. Most good beer stores keep there craft beer warm.

Best Beer Store in Boston?

Bauer is a nice store but its selection is very limited. Marty's is also good but, as I alluded to above, it has racks and racks of warm beer.

Sorry, I have not.

"Roadhouse Craft Beer and BBQ "

Please do. I really dig the pulled pork from Blue Ribbon and Soulfire, I really think that this one is a cut above.

"Roadhouse Craft Beer and BBQ "

Ouch. Should I feel like an ass? I had the pulled pork and their chili. Maybe I jumped the gun after trying only one BBQ item. The pulled pork had an excellent smoke flavor, definitely not "too smokey". Maybe I jumped the gun by saying "best in Boston" without trying their ribs. There is no excuse for dry ribs. Speaking of ribs, the guy next to me ordered the "Fried Bay Back Ribs". What the hell is that all about?

Eastern Standard - Recs?

I haven't been to ES since my boy Jamie left. Is it still good?

"Roadhouse Craft Beer and BBQ "

Fans of The Public House in Brookline will love their new sister restaurant and retail store. About two blocks west of The Public House on Beacon Street you will find "Roadhouse Craft Beer and BBQ". The name says it all. The BBQ is the best that I have had in Boston. Better than Soulfire and Blue Ribbon. Don't even ask me if it is better than Redbones. Actually, if Redbones had good food and a good beer selection, then it would be Roadhouse. The attached retail store is named "Public House Provisions". Easily Boston's best beer store. All of their beer is in coolers. No more racks and racks of warm beer. They also have "proper glassware" for sale that comes from each brewery specifically designed for each beer type. Their gourmet grocery selection includes a case of fine cheeses.
