I would go after the lobster pot pie too, but if money is no object it may be a nice opportunity to try some kobe beef. very expensive, but worth a try if you don't have to worry about the check. |

What about founding farmers and I think Eatonville, marvin and 16th st lounge is all local ----- |

Private event for 40 at excellent/trendy restaurant Komi is a good choice but very $$$$ for a buy out and not the best space. 2941 is a killer choice. The source might also be an option not sure though. ----- |

Sorry I have not been yet but it's on my list. |

Cross Ray's and Jaleo off your list and you will be fine. Jaleo is not very good and Ray's is great but not for something like this. It's a quick meal. Tosca and Marcel's are two of the best special occasion shops in the city. You can't go wrong with either. |

Good sports bar for college football? Check out Red Line in Chinatown or Old Dominion Brewhouse on 9th and M. Great tv's at both. |

Holiday party for 80, private room? Call Bobby Van's Grill. Sounds like you are near there, they have great space. |

Coupons and Deals- July to August 2011 In my opinion It is very rare to find a restaurant deal worth trying. Unless I really want to try something new saving $25 on a $50 only gets me a fraction of the way towards paying my bill. I drink and therefore dinner can be much more expensive and saving $25 on a restaurant that may stink isn't worth it. Savour is awesome it was once called Village Vines and for a $10 service charge you get 30% off your entire bill. Other deals I like are for 1/2 priced wine which many DC restaurants offer, but I can not find a good list if anyone knows of one floating around. |

I went to a wedding last year at Bobby Van's Grill on 12th and New York Ave NW. I go here all the time for dinner so last May I was pleasently suprised when I was invited to a weddiing. The party was about your size, I am guessing 200 maybe 250, and they rented out the entire floor at Bobby Van's. Food was great and the space is awesome. There was plenty of space for dancing drinking and dinner. Dinner took place in one room while the dance floor and private bar were connected in an adjacent room. Check out the space if you have time the wedding was one of the best I ever went to. |

Bobby Van's Grill in DC does 1\2 priced wine on the weekends ( All day Friday and Saturday Night). Crazy value for wine drinkers, I spent less here then I did at Ray's because of the wine value. |

should I keep my Il Mulino reservation? This is a perfect place for red sauce Italian. Great food, a little over priced, but who isn't in this town. |

Best steak place in Washington DC for a large group of guys I would go to Bobby Van's Grill I've been to two similar dinners there. Both were great. One was in a room so if your looking for something like that they have it. |
Central or Brasserie Beck or Proof? Proof is the best food and experience in that group. It's not as loud as the other two but it's not slow by any means. Becks over priced and shouldnt be in the same league as Proof and Central. |

Upscale private dining for a group of about 15 - 20 There are a lot of great private rooms in dc. Not sure if you have found somewhere but here are a couple good one: Bobby Van's Grill, Capital Grille, Central and Becks. |

Blue Duck Tavern, Marcel's or Kinkeads??? Blue Duck is overrated, but the service was a real disappointment not so much the food. Kinkead's is a little passed its day but still solid. Marcel's is one of the best spots in the city but i think more formal then the other two. |

I agree, the steak tartar is a can't miss. The thing that's great about central is you can go casual or high end food and drinks for all types of nights. |
Need Suggestion: Chinatown/Downtown--Good Fish Dishes/Nice Atmosphere Proof is great, but the miso black cod or something like that shouldn't be missed at Zengo. |
I don't think anyone really goes to either of these two spots. For fish go to the Oceanaire or Blacksalt. Then there is the fact that you can get great fish at many many dc restaurants. |
This place is great but its much more about the experience then the food. The food is good, but not the most satisfying meal in the city. It is all about talking and asking the chef's questions. The chef's are really great,. As for another experience like that its rare I am thinking that maybe Komi can deliver. but outside of that I cant think of any similar cooking. |

Is there a place in Washington DC that serves massive steaks? From what I have seen BVG "Bobby Van's Grill" has the largest steaks I have seen in the city. Ribeye is great and they have a really big porterhouse. Also really not stuffy, it seemed like there were a lot of suits but also a bunch of t-shrits. |
BLUE DUCK TAVERN OR POSTE FOR BRUNCH? that is a tough call. Both are good and service can be hit miss. Blue Duck is one of the best looking restaurant in the city very nice. Poste however is not very popular not sure about their brunch but blue duck is much more respected. BD Can be fun I saw Bono from U2 when I was there during the inaugural weekend. |

I love this place so much all the food is great, however service is hit miss. one of the things that surprises me is that the best service i have received was at a table on the lower level. The service at the bar is not good and that was the only time that i have sat in the dinning room, but I have heard service can be really bad in the dinning room too. The sliders are great so is the derby chop salad. All the food I have had is solid for the price. |

Bibiana, Washington D.C.'s Very Own Saint WOW that's a glowing review I did not share the same experience. I would much rather go to Tosca for Italian. |
Best Jose Andres restaurant in DC Mini Bar is a great experience, but very $$$$. It is one of the only place in DC worth spending that kind of money on just food. His best place you can get into is Zaytinya, I would avoid Jaleo very over rated. Oyamel is just OK. I have never been to cafe atlantico outside of mini bar but it looks good. |
Best Wine Store for Excellent Buying Advice/Guidance? i love the selection at dean and deluca in g town. its a little pricey but great wines that you cant find everywhere. |
Need a venue for a 'wedding-alternative' cocktail party The downstairs Bar at BVG (Bobby Van's Grill) is great to take over for a large party. |
youthful French restaurants in DC This is a great choice, $100 can travel a long way at this restaurant but it can be a challenge to get in. Bistrot Francis is good in G-town and so is Bistrot d'Oc downtown. |
Matchbox is great for groups and sharing also acadiana is good. |
Logan Tavern is the best I have come across and you are able to choose what you want in your from a long list. |

someplace different than Central.... Yea Courduroy is closed on Sunday but it is a different experience then Central and Beck, a little more formal, but great food. Try Proof I really like it also Cork'd is good on 14th. |
