Just found another McD's that does fried apple pies yesterday - and lucky me, it's right down the street! It is in Wheeling, Illinois - one of the northwest suburbs of Chicago. No cherry pies, but at least they have the original fried apple pies, and they are as yummy as I remember them being! Here's the info:
