I second the Magnolia Ave recommendation. It's the closest you can get to Austin without leaving Tarrant County.

Old fashioned bar?
Looking for a neighborhood bar in the Hurst/NRH area. No sports bars, chains, wine bars, or karokai joints. Just an old fashioned, dimly lit, "bar" bar (hopefully full of characters and smoke.)
