Vegetarian Options in Puerto Rico, please?!

Hi everyone,

I'm a lacto-ovo vegetarian (eggs and dairy fine, but I don't eat meat, chicken, fish, etc.) foodie who will be in San Juan for three nights and four days with my omnivore boyfriend, and would love recommendations for the best vegetarian experiences you have had anywhere in Puerto Rico, from the street vendors to the super-fancy. We will be staying in San Juan, so recommendations there are particularly welcome, but I will drive across the country for great food! :-)

Ideally, I would like to find places where my boyfriend can get some wonderful seafood and meat dishes, but that I'm not stuck with a mish-mash of side dishes or an uninspired "vegetable platter." Also, I don't know that this will be possible, but I love eating authentic dishes, and would much prefer local specialties to eating at a restaurant geared toward veggie tourists.
