What's In-between L'esplaier and Clio?
I posted earlier, and than you for the wonderful responses. Based on feedback from the beau last night, I wanted to pick your proverbial tastebuds one more time.
What restaurant(s) do you feel would fall in between L'esplaier and Clio?
Romantic + Modern = ???
Only requirement is a full bar, he likes his Myer's and cokes and I like my Martini's.
Thanks Again!!
Advice Needed...
After reading through several great reviews from many people I realized that my best approach was to jump in and seek your advice for my given situation.
In one month my Boston-born and raised partner will be turning 47 and I am looking to take him out for a fabulous dinning experience, emphasis on experience. He is a young soul, gregarious, loves to eat, drink, talk, laugh, and just have a good time all around. So I am looking for a good fit that offers and upscale fun environment that offers great service and a great meal, hoping this is not to much to ask. The type of food is open.
Our dining experiences have been minimal this year due to some unfortunate circumstances, this why I am looking to do something more special for a birthday.
Thank you in advance for your thoughts and insights. I promise to follow up with my choice and experience on Oct. 4 or 5.
My thoughts so far:
Clio -
Looks great, but afraid it might be to impress-business-client-esque, or hotel restaurant-esque. Also, portions will probably be way to small for me, but again, it is not my day.
9 Park -
Sounds good, but seems occasion-average, on par with Mistral (in my mind). No offense to anyone, but seems like I should get into my Ford Taurus for my wedding anniversary.
Oleana -
Heard good things, but we enjoy running around afterwards and not have to get back into the car. I’m not exactly sure of the location and what is around.
Upstairs on the Square -
Love the cocktails over at Om; of course the blood-orange martini at the Harvest and even the hot chocolate at Burdicks will also be calling. I have always wanted to try this but seems like it might be a similar stuffy crowd that goes to Rialto, at least before the renovations.
L'espalier -
He's a Boston native who has not really experienced a lot of Boston, as it happens for anyone who lives in an area. Thought it might be a fun experience, even though I think the style seems a little stuffy. Maybe would be good choice for our 7 year anniversary at the end of Oct.
Salt -
Hmm, no thoughts just keep seeing it popup in reviews.
