Thanks, I ended up making these and they turned out to go nicely with the EB.

Eggs Benedict and ?

Haha, McD's doesn't serve breakfast here, so I can't even go that route.

Eggs Benedict and ?

I ended up deciding on ciabatta primarily because it's one less thing to try to coordinate. With no quick biscuit option in Norway (they don't even know what biscuits are), it would have to be from scratch if I went that route.

Eggs Benedict and ?

Thanks for the reply. I guess I should add that, even though I live in Norway, I am American and grew up in the South. Some good grits would be great, but, much like English muffins, finding grits seems to be impossible around here. ;)

Eggs Benedict and ?

Hey guys,

I love food but really just started trying to learn to cook in the last few weeks. Eating at great restaurants all the time gets pricey. ;)

I'm making my girlfriend's favorite dish, eggs benedict, for a Valentine's Day brunch. I've been practicing with the eggs this week and I think I have them down pretty well. Unfortunately, I can't find any English muffins in Norway, so I think I'm going to have to substitute another bread, perhaps ciabatta.

I've looked around the net and found that potatoes (in many forms) are a very common side dish for eggs benedict.

Does anyone have a particular style of potatoes that they recommend? Or any other creative, but not so hard I can't do it yet type ideas for what to serve with the eggs?

Thanks in advance!

If I only had two meals in Vienna (end of March), where should I go?

I haven't been in several years, but I remember Artner in the 4th district having unbelievable food at not ridiculous prices. Maybe a local can chime in on whether its quality has stayed constant?

Best value restaurants in Oslo?

Thanks for the recommendations! I'll definitely check them out.

I read a little bit of Norwegian and it's slowly getting to be more.

How much do you trust vibb.no's reviews? I haven't been to enough places yet to be able to tell if the users there are as trustworthy as chowhounders.

Best value restaurants in Oslo?

Most of the threads on Oslo restaurants are focused on fine(r) dining and targeted at the 2-3 day stay in the city. I recently moved to Oslo and love eating at good restaurants, so I figured this thread might take a different track.

In short, I'm looking for the best "bang for the buck," whether that be cheap but pretty tasty or expensive but best food in the world. Any local favorites are also more than welcome because there is likely a reason the restaurant became a local a favorite. :)

I will kick the thread off with a restaurant I thought met my criteria:

Habibi
Very good Palestinian food and a lot of it for the price. We had the mezha with meat and left the table happy as larks for about 200kr per person.
