Best bets around U district, Ballard, Wallingford & Fremont?

I'm what you may call a Seattle ex-pat. I grew up in greater area and lived in Fremont as recently as fifteen years ago so I'm not exactly up-to-date on my knowledge. Can I get some guidance for wonderful restaurants in these areas? I'm looking for places that are not too expensive and conducive to long chats. I also would love to hear about some good watering holes in these neighborhoods. Thanks in advance!

Early AM bike-worthy eats

Thanks for this. I just had a Farmer Boy's breakfast burrito last weekend!

Oh, yeah. Corner Cottage is perfect for me! What you say is true about the slow ride back.

I have a wonderful yet tricky schedule. I get off work at 4:30am and have a great opportunity to get my bike ride before the traffic gets crazy. I'm trying to find places within a 15 mile radius of my house (in mid-town/Koreatown) that will serve a slightly sweaty customer at such an hour.

It doesn't have to be breakfast food, necessarily. I can ride as far as Santa Monica, Pasadena, the SG Valley, or Burbank, for example. I would prefer that any place I go to be open by 6:30 or I probably won't beat the traffic.

Thanks in advance!

Good for groups in Hollywood/Koreatown?

I'm looking for a place that won't break the bank and is conducive to being able to hear each other talk. Ours will be a group of about ten people and I am open to almost any cuisine. Neighborhoods of interest include: Hollywood, Thai Town, Koreatown, Mid-City, Silver Lake, and Los Feliz. Thanks in advance for all your input!
