Baja Cafe - Finally Some Good Mexican in North Asheville!
out of curiosity - Have you been to the Brevard road P and B? I'd be curious to know your thoughts regarding the two side by side...
Baja Cafe - Finally Some Good Mexican in North Asheville!
it's important to know the P and B on Brevard is NOT the same as the others (different owner, same family) it remains the benchmark for Mex in WNC
Plant - Fantastic Food and Cruelty Free! (Asheville)
I stand corrected - it IS on Merrimon - Apologies if I got anyone lost..
Plant - Fantastic Food and Cruelty Free! (Asheville)
We felt that the prices did match the quality - to be sure - however, if it were a bit more on the affordable side we'd go MUCH more often and they'd actually make more $$ on volume. Was it worth it? Yes, emphatically yes!
Plant - Fantastic Food and Cruelty Free! (Asheville)
Ciao Hounds - Last night my wife and I ate at Plant - The new Vegan restaurant on Charlotte Street in Asheville. It was spectacular - Great service, presentation and most importantly, the food is so fresh, so delicious and so obviously made with love. Highly recommended.
sunday breakfest - hendersonville,NC
Dixie diner is a good bet for a basic country breakfast. Good biscuits!
Which animal have you eaten every single part of?
The elusive Tofurkey. Every last bit.
Elena's vs. Papas? (Arden/Hendersonville)
I haven't been there but am curious to try it - BTW - El Rebozo is very good.
Asheville Thai..?
I'll 3rd that recommendation for Little Bee - The others in the area (and the place in Grove Arcade in particular) are not worth eating at if you really want to experience (as close to) traditional Thai as we can get in WNC. The owner and chef at LB (Tuk - pronounced Took) is a very sweet person and makes all of her curries etc. from scratch. Can't say enough good things - Be prepared to wait or call ahead. Yum!
p.s. If you like your food VERY SPICY she will deliver! (but don't be afraid if you don't as the dishes are mild/moderate unless you ask for the heat)
Fisherman's Quarter Asheville
Blue Water Seafood on Charlotte is the place from what I hear...We're pure vegetarian so I have to go by word of mouth on this one...
Must-Have Asheville Reservations?
Breakfast (or lunch, or dinner - but especially breakfast) at Sunny Point!
Thuyen Vien Vegetarian Vietnamese Restaurant in Anaheim CA
Ciao Hounds!
I was in Anaheim for a convention this week and ate THREE TIMES at this gem of a restaurant.
The food is spectacular - Really - The family who runs the place just delightful.
If you want traditional Vietnamese and are veg (or not) do not miss this place.

Dinner at Toast Carmel Valley
I was here for breakfast recently and the service and food were both great. Love the local ingredients and reasonable pricing (rare in that area). We look forward to returning next time we're in the area for sure.
3 Days in Asheville
Hit up Sunny Point for the best breakfast within 100 miles. (in West Asheville however...)
Tupelo Honey is fantastic as well.
Asheville is full of good places - Have fun!

Squishing potato chips in your sandwich...anyone else do this?
I LOVE Chips in my sandwiches!!
New Indian Restaurant South Asheville?
I love Kathmandu for lunch and Mela for dinner. I think Chai Pani is not good. (been there twice.) India Garden has been ok for me but never have ordered off the menu - just buffet. I'll try them for dinner next time...

Asheville Coffee
Dripolator is a good stop to be sure - Also I love the French Roast at World Coffee - and for my to the source caffeine fix it has to be Waking Life on Haywood - If you've not been there go immediately and get a traditional cappuccino. Best I've had outside Italy and some of the best coffee period. Nice spot to chill too.
Downtown Asheville, NC - casual, good & fun recommendations?
Danna, the PnB on Brevard road is like apples and oranges to HVL. Please go - You'll be super happy you did!
looking to buy my first GREAT scotch
IMHO I'd buy a 25 dollar bottle of Teachers or save up for a few weeks and go for the Johnny Walker Blue (150 +/-) Have fun either way!
Breakfast Potatoes -Asheville
let me first be clear the the Miami is a DIVE - But in a loving way - if you order OJ it comes in a cup with foil ala 6th grade lunch. However, for the carnivorous, they make their own sausage, the 'taters as mentioned are stupidly good and the ambiance - well - wear camo and if you arrive in a Ford F150 all the better!
Breakfast Potatoes -Asheville
the best 'taters are at the Miami restaurant in the cosmopolitan enclave of Candler. Really. They stop serving them at 11am. Wear camo.
Sunday dinner in Asheville
I'd skip early girl and head to Pappas and Beer on BREVARD road - feed everyone well with great food for $
New Yorker in Greenville, SC uncovering hidden gems - Cafe Paulista Grille and Saigon Fast Food
my god - Saigon Fast Food had the WORST Vietnamese food I've EVER had - and I mean WORST FOOD EVER. We ordered 5 different dishes and they all were ghastly. Beware..

Amazing Savings Asheville
not so much between those two stores likely but the huge one in Black Mountain (on 70) has tons of variety (usually)
Saigon Fast Food in Greenville, SC?
I'm astounded - the food was likely the crappiest food (outside Vinnies in Asheville) that we'd ever had and friends, I am forgiving!
Best inexpensive coffee?
Cafe Du Monde - If you go to an Asian market you'll find it around $5.00 a tin vs. $9-11 at Whole Foods or similar - I make mine in a stove top moka pot and love it!
