What is your favorite DC foodie restaurant?

Thank you for the replies. Our next stop will definitely be Komi. It sounds amazing.

What is your favorite DC foodie restaurant?

Being relatively new to the area and having two small children has greatly limited my husband and I's ability to dine out. We've being to Obelisk twice and loved it. What should our next stop be? Cost and cuisine aren't an issue. Something in the same vein as Obelisk where food is always the focus and the wine list is decent. I've searched the board and found 20 or so odd restaurants that seem to be popular answers to the "I only have 3 days in DC...where should I eat?" question. I'd just rather go somewhere that is almost always spot on for cooking since our alone time for meals is limited. If you could mention whether the restaurant is upscale/business casual or dressy (ie. jacket) attire, I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

Veil, Barolo, or Crush...which would you choose?

Coming to Seattle for a wedding this weekend. We're already doing dinner at Canlis with parents on Thursday. Now I'm looking for something that is still swanky and dressy but a bit more hip. I've narrowed it down to these 3 but would also be open to suggestions for something I might be leaving out.

Lower East Side, Girls night out Recs

I'm visiting my girlfriends next month for a weekend and volunteered to pick a place for dinner. Only requirement from my friends was lower east side below 23rd. I'm looking for something a little more upscale/dressy but with delicious food, especially dessert. Perhaps somewhere we could find a decent bottle of wine for under $50/bottle. Leaning towards new american, italian, or french....maybe tapas. Any suggestions would be very helpful.

SEA: Canlis or other similar

Thanks for all of your suggestions. Still thinking about Canlis although I'm also considering Union.

SEA: Canlis or other similar

Just wondering if anyone can give their opinion of Canlis. I've heard several good things about it. Since I'm not from the area I wondered if anyone had a recommendation for a similar restaurant to try. Somewhere where being dressed up wouldn't look out of place. Mostly leaning towards something with northwest cuisine. Thanks.
