Birthday Dinner Help!!
Hey everybody,
Im looking for a good restaurant for my birthday. Im a vegetarian but my family is not so I'm looking for a place that has a good atmosphere, good food ( with an emphasize on local food) with a few vegetarian choices. Any type of food with be good in the brooklyn/queens area. Past birthday we have been to Queen's Hideaway ( which closed so sad) and Red Bamboo to give you an idea of the type of restaurant I'm looking for. Any help would be greatly appreciated, !! Thanks!!

Sripaphai~ over hyped?
i recently moved a few blocks away from Sripaphai and have eaten there on several occasions. I think the food is great, Im a vegetarian and they have so many great options. My only problem is the service. I took my mother and grandmother there for mother's day as well as a few other family members. They waitress took half of the tables order and then left with no explanation. We were a bit confused and tried to call her back over but she had gone to take another table order. She did finally come back to finish taking our order 15 minutes later. We were so hungry by the time the food got there that it kinda put a damper on the festivities. I know it was mother's day and they were busy but an explanation was to what was going on would have been helpful. Otherwise i think a great place but i will only be ordering take out from now on.

I need a a great chinese restaurant with a private room that can host a family gathering. My grandfather passed away and one of his final requests is that the family get together and have great chinese food ( his favorite) and talk about his life. We were thinking Shun Lee Palace but it is very pricey but something in that vain would be great. We just need some place that is comfortable and the service is good; some where were we could sit and talk and not feel rushed. We are will to pay for this type of meal but i just cant justify spending six dollars on a egg roll. NYC or Queens is best easy parking is essential because some people coming have disablities.Thank you so much for taking the time to read this post and responding to it.
