I'm keeping it simple tonight - a load of crimini mushrooms sauteed in olive oil and butter with ground turkey, and finished with Trader Joe's creamy goat cheese

The frozen steamer clams have been there since I started frequenting the store (October 2013). I was tempted to try but read a review online that they were horrendously salty. Perhaps different than what you saw as these were near the other frozen fish.

What's for Dinner #328 - The It's Fall Edition!

Hallelujah it's burger night! I've been thinking about burgers since last week's beefy delight! Tonight will be similar with a few switcheroos - GF ground beef, Canadian bacon, Cabot's Catamount cheese (IMO tastes like a Cheddar/Swiss/Parmesan combo) all atop roasted Portabello mushrooms with dijon Aioli on the side for dipping.

Broiled mahi mahi basted with a tarragon and olive compound butter served with braised collard greens

Is it too soon to talk about Thanksgiving?

I made a pumpkin sauce this week that I'm planning to convert to a soup for Thanksgiving - pumpkin, bacon, sage, goat cheese.

The pumpkin sage sauce was delicious! I had to repeat it a few days later. Likely a weekly staple for a while.

Hmm, that'd be a good way to use the Five Spice I've never used that's been in the cabinet for who knows how long. Tonight's pumpkin repeat featured goat cheese, also very tasty.

I don't buy any of their prepared dishes aside from the carnitas for late night snacks. Other than that I go there for basics - butter, vegetables, cheese, nuts, nut butter, oils

Exactly! It's clearly working. I've gone from thinking nothing in the store was for me to $20 a week at TJs and this week literally made my grocery list which used to include at least 4 stores and only includes TJs. Never did I think I'd do most of my shopping there.

What's for Dinner #327-The Scotland Votes Edition! [through September 25, 2014]

It's rainy, rainy, rainy and all I want to do is curl up with a good book, a hot cup of tea and little Shiitake and watch movies! So tonight's dinner will hopefully be right up my soothing comfort food-cravin' alley! It's a sort of repeat of Tuesday's dinner with a few changes to create a pumpkin soup. Argentinian shrimp will be the star, sauteed in olive oil, garlic, onions and speak, pumpkin and stock added and simmered for a bit to thicken, all finished with a hefty handful of goat cheese.

It's not Zuni chicken Wednesday! I decided to mix it up mostly because I couldn't keep my wallet closed at the store and hadn't bothered to pull out chicken last weekend. Dinner will be super simple, perhaps boring, but a guaranteed winner - pan-roasted grass fed ribeye finished with a healthy pat of KG butter and steamed broccoli seasoned with garlic salt.
