Where, oh where is Diwan?
there are quite a few options on Hillside Avenue in New Hyde Park but if you head west on Union Tpk just over the queens border, you will hit Santoor in the Waldbaums/Burlington Coat factory. Reliable indian, jammed on the weekends for lunch with indians and non-indian alike.

GRIMALDI'S PIZZA IN GARDEN CITY, L.I.--FANTASTIC NOW AND FROM THE BEGINNING!
I must concur the GC Grimaldi's is great for the GC crowd who desperately neeeded a decent pizza place, but the three times i've tried it, it was nothing spectacular. good, yes, but worth going out of your way on LI/Queens for, a resounding no. is it too much to kick in the flavor on the sauce??????
