Zeppole Tour 2011

imho, Modern has the best!

The Best South Shore Bar Pizza

I'll throw another bar pizza into the mix.
Rags on Washington St, Quincy.

ISO Andouille sausage

The Smokehouse has an outlet store on Rt 53 in Norwell, Ma.

Anthony Bourdain No Reservations Season 7 in Boston, Part Two

He'll be at l st tavern at 3:30 and then the Quecher on I st in Southie today at 5:30

Beef middles

I believe it's Mass Importing CO
255 Main Street, Medford MA

Best Italian sub in Boston Financial District ... EVER

I'll second Al's Sate Street.
They have a place on South Street also.
CocoDan, make your way over to Scola's on Black Falcon Pier for one of those great Charlestown's.

Where's the Best Fried Chicken in Boston Area?

NY Fried Chicken.
They are located in various parts of the city, I've had some from the Hyde Park store.
Very Good!!

Circle Pizza ?

Closed for years. Had a very loyal following and was on a par with the Regina,
I believe it was owned by North Ender, Billy DeMarco.

Italian Restaurant on Strip

Every time we go to Las Vegas we go to the inexpensive but delicious old school Bootlegger Bistro.
It's on Las Vegas Blvd. a little past the car rental return place

-----
Bootlegger Bistro
7700 Las Vegas Blvd S Ste 1, Las Vegas, NV 89123

Sabrett's Hot Dogs availability

If you can get into Restaurant Depot, or know someone who can, they stock Sabrett's dogs.

Best Chocolate Cake, Gregg's Restaurant in Providence. (worth the drive)

When I have a craving for a chocolate cake I drive down to Providence to a restaurant called Gregg's. They also have a bakery section. The cakes are reasonably priced.
They have the best chocolate cakes and lemon cakes I have ever had. Their eclairs are huge and awesome, also.
They are located at 1303 North Main Street, Providence, RI.

The Butcher Shop, Dorchester

Any sausage maker worth his or her salt, no matter where they live or come from would know andouille or boudin sausage.
They don't necessarily have to like or eat them, but they will know about them and how to make them.
imho, Boudin sausage would not be a big seller in this part of the country. I made 15 lbs of Boudin about 3 weeks ago, and not many people liked them.

Sausage Casings?

Stop and Shop has been carrying them.
Lord Jeff's at Newmarket also has them at half the price of Stop and Shop. The same brand name also.

Best North End Pizza for lunch with kids

I'd agree with Regina, but a close second (imho) is the Pushcart on Salem St.

is CF Donovans closed?

Not irresponsible at all, maybe insensitive, BUT the truth.

Designer Donuts? - moved from Boston board

After watching Chronicle the other night, I took a ride to West Roxbury to try out the donut shop they touted, Anna's Hand Cut Donuts.
The donuts were very light, but tasteless and worse than that, the price for a dozen was outrageous. $12 for a dozen. The donut places I place on a much higher scale (Kane's, Donuts with a Difference, Verna's) are not even close to this price.

Pickling salt

Walmart carries it.
And, I'm pretty sure you could use kosher salt, but you would have to grind the kosher salt down, due to the much bigger flakes and it doesn't disolve as well when it's not gound down to a fine particle.

Grumpy White's in Quincy

I saw one of those go by me, and said to my wife, "that's what I'm getting the next time we're here"

Grumpy White's in Quincy

Made a trip back here for lunch after an absence on my part of a couple of years.
Got some onion rings (hand cut) and a double cheeseburger.
Probably the best cheeseburger I've had in a while.

is CF Donovans closed?

Divorce brought about the defaults.
Ain't love great?

Wanted: Authentic German Food!!!

Try Euroguild, Inc. 397 High Plain Street Walpole, MA 02081 for authentic German foods.

Boston area's Best Donuts

I've mentioned the donuts at this place many times and I never get any opinions.
Try Doughboy Donuts on Dorchester Ave near A St.
It's across the street from the MBTA train and bus yards.
Much better than Donuts With A Difference and Demets.
Betty Ann's donuts are very good, but also very different from what you usually get at most donut places.

Homemade Corned Beef Hash-Boston Breakfast

Had a great corned beef hash omelet at the L St Diner in South Boston Sunday morning.
It was one of the best I've ever had.

Where to find a great caramel cake?

Sugar in West Roxbury at 1884 Centre St.
Good stuff.

Pat's Pizza in Southie the same?

I've enjoyed subs and pizza from Pat's in Lower Mills, Dorchester on numerous occasions and noticed a Pat's Pizza has opened in the old Brigham's spot on West B'wy in my hometown, Southie.
Is this Pat's owned ny the same people as in Dorchester?

The Best Donuts in the Planet are in East Boston...

Since hearing about this place, I've been going over every Saturday morning for the best donuts in the world. I tried the danish and coffee rolls, but didn't really care for them, I'll have to try a pie next!
Nobody ever mentions Doughboy Donuts on Dorchester Ave, across from the T yards.
Really good donuts, I think they are much better than Demets or Donuts With A Difference.

best pizza in boston area

Never tried Ernesto's, but imho the Regina is not the Regina of old!

Where can I buy stoneware crocks, for pickles/kraut?

They go for about $55 at Salem St Hardware for a 5 gallon ceramic container.

best pizza in boston area

Recently tried PushCart's Pizza on Salem St. I thought it was as good as Regina's in the North End. It's around the corner from Parmenter St.
We have been back 3 times since. Good stuff.

Phantom Gourmet's Food Festival - is it worth the $40?

I went to a Hot Dog Safari, which is their father's thing, but pretty sure they were involved.
The money went to a very worthwhile charity, but was not worth standing in long lines, for a hot dog.
So, I don't think this venture will be worth it.
