Triple Malt Chocolate Cake

I made this cake and it was wonderful! It looked just like the photo and tasted fantastic! I listened to those who wrote in and only used 2 sticks of butter instead of 3. I used Carnation Malted Milk and thought it was great. I increased the amount of malted milk powder to increase that yummy flavor. I didn't measure that increase, just did it by eye and taste. I have to say that with decreasing the amount of butter you come out with just enough icing to finish the cake nicely. Also, I made the layers of cake ahead, froze them and then made the frosting and put it together the day before the party and kept it refrgerated. I'll definitely be making this again!

50th Anniversary party In Manhattan or Westchester

I'm looking for a place with great food and a private room that can accomodate about 50 - 60 people for a sit down dinner and dancing for my parent's 50th wedding anniversary in June. My budget is around $100 per person. I'd love to hear any suggestions!

Tcho Chocolate

Has anyone been to Tcho Chocolate? Can you see the chocolates being made? I heard it's the only chcolate factory in SF.

Fishkill NY - ISO Dry Scallops

At the farmer's market in Rhinebeck (Thursday afternoons and Sunday mornings) there is a fishmonger who has OUTSTANDING fish. He is the chef at Le Petite Bistro in Rhinbeck. You might want to go up there to talk to him and ask him if he gets scallops. He has awesome shrimp and other varieties of fish we dont' often get around here. Besides the trip to that farmer's market (especially on Sunday) is TOTALLY worth it! Probably the best in Dutchess County!

New Paltz area recommendations

One more - Main Course is really good. They are a great catering outfit that has a small restaurant that is very casual. Gadaletto's is really casual also. I would probably call ahead for a reservation to any of these places as I imagine they all get quite busy during the fair.

New Paltz area recommendations

We have enjoyed Beso right on Main Street. It's defintitely more upscale. Also Gadaletto's is good - especially this time of year for their lobster dinner!

Mexican food in Poughkeepsie

Fresco Tortilla on the corner of Raymond and Collegeview has totally fresh tortillas and great fajitas - you can get beef, chicken shrimp or any combo. Great to take home. There's only a little counter to eat there.

Other Than Wineries Suggestions for Napa/Sonoma

Hi! My husband and I are going to be in San Francisco/Napa/Sonoma for about 10 days the end of Sepetember. We'll visit wineries but would love recommendations for "foodie" type acitivites other than wine - place where they make their own olive oil? Chocolate? Please where we might take a cheese making class? Thanks!
