Visiting Niagara Falls & Buffalo area soon. Need Recs!

Do yourself a favor and skip the Anchor Bar. Much like any place that's gotten way too much pbulicity, the quality has gone way downhill. And why not - they're going to get the foot traffic based on the name, so they cut corners and make a lot more money. Go to Duff's on Sheridan. Best wings in the solar system.

Also Chef's near the arena is decent Italian. They smother many of their dishes in about 10 pounds of mozzerella - that can't be bad.

good cheap eats near U of Rochester and RIT

I second the Garbage plate. Only point of contention is the hot dogs...go with the cheeseburgers (and skip the baked beans).

Another lunch option that's both cheap and fantastic is Antonetta's on Jay Street. It's a beautifully decorated restaurant (it's a dump), and in a lovely part of town (bring a gun). But great old school Italian for under $10. Get some type of pasta. Do NOT get the chicken parm - it's a chicken patty - never could figure that one out.

Whole Foods (MGH) or Shaws (Prudential)

Not sure how many on this board live in the west suburbs, but you're about to have your minds blown by the best grocery chain in the US....Wegmans. Opens in Northborough in mid-October. Check it out. Much better than WF.

Faneuil Hall/North End Food/Drink

One more question. I was looking at Strega as well, but it looks a little nicer, and we'll probably be in jeans. Strega takes reservations thought, and Giacomo's does NOT. How long of a wait can I expect at Giacomo's on a Sunday night (probably around 8:00 or so)?

Faneuil Hall/North End Food/Drink

Thanks for the info. How about parking near F. Hall? I hate driving around looking for lots, so if you can point me to a reasonably priced lot in the area, I'd GREATLY appreciate it.

Faneuil Hall/North End Food/Drink

Traveling to Boston over the weekend for work. Have a couple questions that you guys may be able to help with.

1. Do you know of a decent pub near Faneuil Hall/North End where I can catch the Bills game?
2. Any other pubs that are on the 'not to be missed' list in that area?
3. As for North End eats, I was thinking Giacomo's based on some posts on this board. Any other recommendations? I hear Cafe Florentine is decent as well.

Thanks!

Best restaurant near Basking Ridge????

I'm going to be in town for a meeting, and am looking for a great restaurant (preferably steakhouse, but doesn't HAVE to be) near Basking Ridge. Entertaining clients, so money is not an issue. Thoughts?

Best Chinese (American) in Chinatown

Thanks for all the tips. Someone at work mentioned Wo Hop as a great Americanized Chinese place on Mott Street. Anyone think this will fit the bill?

Bagels in Theatre District

I'm staying this weekend at a hotel that's within a few blocks of Times Square, and I'm looking for a good bagel place. Normally, I hit H&H on the upper west side, but I need to stay close.

Any suggestions?

Best Chinese (American) in Chinatown

I'll be in the city this weekend with my wife and 4 kids (all under the age of 10--yes, we're nuts). My kids LOVE General Tso's chicken, and I want to take them someplace in Chinatown that has the good stuff. The catch is, for me, Chinatown is hit or miss. I have stumbled into 'authentic' Chinese restaurants, and had horrible meals. If I'm eating Chinese, the meat (?) better be deep fried, and the sauce should have a few pounds of sugar in it.

Sorry to offend any purists out there...with any other cuisine, I'm a purist myself--just not with Chinese food. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
