My first meal on Stage at the CIA. Let's just say...five course meals for lunch every day for six weeks! I did have a sandwich that made me cry at a taco place in La Canada, Cali. It was perfect--gave me that feeling you get when you listen to a beautiful song or find art that speaks to you.
My current drink of choice:
whisky on the rocks
I really wish I could:
be with everyone I love at the same time.
My "Go-to" dinner party dish:
I love trying out new things on dinner parties. I know that goes against the rules...but breaking rules is one of those things that I just can't help but do sometimes.
My favorite comfort food:
My dad's venison sausage with biscuits and white gravy. That comforts my soul.
My top 5 favorite restaurants:
In Tally? That's impossible. In the world? Those little places, those unpretentious hole-in-the-wall places that make good food--immigrant food--food that simply is what it is and no more. That's my favorite kind of place.
My most tattered cookbooks:
It's not a cookbook: On Food and Cooking by Harold McGee.
