Could your/ IS your significant other a picky eater?
#1. I am the picky eater. No cheese, no fish, no eggs. I eat one (1) vegetable of each color. If cows and pigs became extint, I would starve in two weeks.
#2 Wife would eat anything. I mean anything. Like travel channel stuff...........
I travel extensively, so she cooks anything she wants while I am gone and works with me when I am home. When we go out, my theory is that I can find something on the menu at any place we go to, so its not a big issue. Occasionally, I will go out with friends to eat things that she wont (mostly BBQ).

pickled onions???
Try pickled onions made for italian anti pasto; they are usually much better than "cocktail" onions
pickled onions???
Not sure how to pickle the onions, but I buy the Mezzetta brand for Gibsons. Nice texture and nice tang. They are available at Stop & Shop (New England) in the Italian section. The company is from Napa Valley if that matters.
The Best Cognac
BIG +1 for the Pierre Ferrand.
Currently working the Reserve and the Selection des Anges.
Pay v. Not Pay: Based on Generation a/o Region?
Yes
mid 50's
USa, Providence area
I also think it depends on who's there and where you went. When my daughters are in town, I buy. Simple as that. Friends we usually take turns picking up the tab. My brothers - split down the middle. Just the way we do it.
Household food battles: Foods you love but your loved ones hate (and what to do about it!)
I wont eat cheese, fish or eggs. And most vegetables. Of course my wife loves Cheese fish and eggs. And vegetables. Fortunately I travel alot........
When I am home, we tend to cook on the grill alot; it solves the making two dishes issue without extra cleaning required.
Skinny Girl Margarita
I actually have printed them for me and my two daughters, but I only use them when I get a blank stare..
Aviation/Gimlet
Best Pairing for a Gin Martini.
Italian Antipasto, with plenty of cocktail onions. 2nd Choice is the fresh potato chips with lots of salt
Food other than seafood at Matunick Oyster Bar
My wife and friends love the place and I dont eat any seafood. I get the steak or the duck and have always had good to great results. Enjoy
Best Bagged Tea Brands?
Twinings English or Irish Breakfast in the mornings. Orange Pekoe, Prince of Wales or English Afternoon for the PM.
Tonic recommendations?
+1 on the Whole Foods 365 Brand. Q and Fever Ttree are both great, but expensive for everday ....
Best Gin Martinis?
No wonder I cant get a decent Martini in most "good' bars. 1/16th vermouth is in the "why bother" category.
And I will die without the onion.......
Wisconsin Beer in Providence, Rhode Island
God what I'd do for a Spotted Cow........
Do Different Types of Alcohol Cause you to Act Differently?
No, they all make me act stupid.........

What Food Trend are You So Sick Of?
Mrs Tanker has made me add basalmic vinegar. Tasty when used properly, but on everything?
Your thoughts on Rye Whiskey
Hounds;
Getting tired of Martini's and thought Manhattans might get me through the rest of the winter. My issue is that I am not very knowledgeable about Rye. What are the good ones at the various price points? What ones are to be avoided like the plague?
Thanks
What Food Trend are You So Sick Of?
The entire "executive chef" deal. If its a multi star restaurant, then fine. If its a diner, your a short order cook with delusions of grandeur..
Best Gin Martinis?
I find Hendrick's way to floral. The rose "highlights" are overpowering, especially in a Martini. Sapphire is my standard, Plymouth my favorite (when i can find it).
Agree with the post about garnish.... its a garnish, not the reason for the drink. I do prefer the Gibson over any other version, second is a twist. i think olives change the drink to much.
The vermouth is very important, especially the proportions. I find 3:1 and 4:1 very acceptable. M&R, Noilly Prat both work. Lillet makes a very interesting sub...
Just my two cents.
Cava Wine Bar in New Canaan, CT - Now a Top Pick in Town

What is the best way to order food/drinks that keeps the bartender happy?
If the bar tender is happy with my ordering, will he leave me a TIP????
I'm neurotic about ... (true confessions)
Peas and Cheese.
I would never eat peas. My mother would freak after serving vegetable soup and find a complete layer of peas left over at the bottom. Yet I adore pea soup. Go figure....
Cheese. Revolting stuff. Spoiled milk gone worse. Not on pizza, not on a sandwich. Not in Italian food. Not sprinkled on top. NONE, NADA. Zero..... Try ordering out with this one....
