Taiwanese food

I don't think you'll find anything in downtown. You might have more choices in uptown because of the asian population that live (and hang) around the area.

I tried a Beef noodle restaurant at First Markham Place last week and it was pretty good. They even have a picture of the Tawanese President (MA Ying-jeou) eating and enjoying his beef noodle soup too :) I don't recall the english/Chinese name of the restaurant, but it's very close to the Vietnamese Pho Restaurant. Maybe someone here can give you the proper name.

Places to eat near Lower Jarvis/Queens Quay

Hi ikapai, I tried The Corner Place restaurant at Front and Lower Jarvis St. for dinner and it was pretty good. There are many bars and restaurants along that area too. ie. The Jersey Giant,

Tobermory Dining Help

Hi Porto, I've been to the Grandview Dining for dinner while watching the beautiful sunset. The food was great especially while enjoying the view in the dinning room. Enjoy!

Occasion-worthy spot for a group of eight (Scaramouche, Canoe, George, Opus??)

How about the 360 restaurant at CN Tower? It's definitely a memorable graduation dinner. I've never gone for a meal but have heard their food is decent.

Need restaurant for group in Toronto

What about the Drake Hotel? Since you have a large group, call ahead and arrange for special menu (if possible). They have a nice bar, nice atmosphere, nice ambience. I take it turns into a lounge at night for the public. Worth a call : )

What's your go to weeknight pasta place

Grazie at Yonge & Eglinton. Always packed but you can make a reservation ahead of time. Really enjoy their seafood pasta (don't recall the exact name), they also have pizza for those who prefer less carbs.

Need info for tonight (pls!) After-Theatre Dining? Near Royal Alexandra

Hi Staceyy, nobody saw your post but if you ever go back to that area for watching a show I would suggest trying out KitKat. They have sittings at the back of the restaurant where you can view their open kitchen. The neat part about this own kitchen is the big tree truck planted right smack in the middle! You see the chefs walking around this tree everytime they go pass each other.

But their food are pretty good. Worth a try!

Dimmi Yorkville

I've been there twice and found their food average. My boy on the other hand absolutely detest the place. He find their food bland and tastness. It's your typical Italian food except you are paying a little bit more because of its location. There is another italian rest. located around the corner that serves better (and possibly more authentic) italian food. Unfortunately I don't recall the name but it's located downstair across from Yamamoto.

Where to go for Chinese food for dinner/Peking Duck in the Toronto area?

I'd recommend Royal Teahouse near Woodbine and Apple Creek for Peking Duck. Quite authentic and the price is not outrageous. they provide both the Green onion and cucumber slices along with the Hoi See Sauce too. You can also order their set dinner menu to go along with the Duck.

Yummy Vietnamese Cuisine & South Asia Malaysian Cuisine (Midland/McNicoll)

Their curry beef/chicken with roti is their speciality IMO. Not a lot of places offer the crispy roti. The big bonus is the place is very clean and it has lots of parking.

Best Place to eat near Keneddy and Mcnicol area?

In the Midland and McNicoll mall, there is a Thai/Singapore/Malay Restaurant called South Asia Malaysian Cuisian that serves good curry beef (or chicken) w/ roti for $7.

The King of Dumplings: Dumpling King – Yonge & Finch location (lengthy review + pics)

Just came back from eating at this place so this review is as 'fresh' as it eats :)

We ordered the Tofu salad and steamed seafood dumplings. Both were very good IMO. I've eaten at many dumpling places before but I really enjoyed the seafood version. The dumplings are not as big as the frozen package from Tien Tien but the taste was very good.

I love mom + pap's rest. because they put a lot of effort in making the food yummy. And this place is no exception. I will definitely come back again!

p.s. we saw the owner and as many posters had mentioned, he is very nice and courteous too.

recommendations for really good chinese dim sum

Grand Chinese Cuisine is inside the Double Tree Hotel @ 655 Dixon Road (very close to the Pearson Airport). Went there for lunch several years ago and thought their dim sum was delicious. Definitely comparable to the restaurants in the east end. The only downside is the location - far from all the 'tourist' attractions, but good if you want a nice dim sum before leaving Toronto :P

recommendations for really good chinese dim sum

Definitely recommend this restaurant especially if you call in advance and request a table by the window. Beautiful view of the Toronto Harbourfront and delicious dim sum. What a great combo!

Portuguese dinner and music

Have you tried Churrasco Villa on Mt. Pleasant and Eglinton? Delicious Chicken & Ribs dinner. Went there for dinner on a Friday long weekend and it was packed. They also have an area for private function as well.

Delighful Fluffy buttery croissants

There is a famous bakery on Bayview (south of Eglington) called "Kashir" (maybe wrong spelling). Their croissants are delisious (and so does everything else in that store). There is a queue usually on a Saturday morning for all those folks who live around that area : )

Great Mexican in Toronto?

Have you tried Milagro across from Metro Hall? They have a location at 783 Queen West. A group of us went several weeks ago and the food was delicious.

This is their website:

One of my friends has been there 3 - 4 times and her favourite is Polo con Mole poblano. We also had the Enchiladas, Carnitas Panchos and their daily special drink. It also came with a bowl of tortila chips with salsa as appetizer. All of us were very full from this meal and would go back again for our next gathering.

Near Islington Subway

Hi, We plan to park the car at the subway station around 6pmish and then wander around for dinner. Can anyone recommend a decent family restaurant within 5-10 min walking distance from the station? I know the area west of the subway has changed a lot with new homes and condos. We don't mind driving there if there is a good place to try as well.

We are easy going folks, so anything is fine.
