Wine, sausage, bread, cheese & olives, with some friends on a hotel balcony, during my first visit to Paris, age 17
My current drink of choice:
I've gone over to the Tequila side. Reposados and Anjejos are my drink of choice. The Baja Fog is my favourite alternative to a well made Margarita. Open a Pacifico or Corona fill the neck with good Tequila, rub the rim with a lime and squeeze some juice inside. Drink.
I really wish I could:
Eat my way across Spain, Italy and France, then after a month of detox, do it again following the Mekong River Valley from China to Vietnam
My "Go-to" dinner party dish:
Paella cooked over charcoal on the Webber
My favorite comfort food:
Sage & onion stuffed Roast Capon, Garlic Buttermilk Smashed Potatoes with Roasted Parsnips, Carrots and Onions in a Maple Thyme Glaze
My top 5 favorite restaurants:
Rim Rock Cafe, Whistler; Bin 941, Vancouver; La Regalade, West Vancouver; Guu With Garlic, Vancouver; Traveler's Rest, Gambier Village, Nassau
My most tattered cookbooks:
The Encyclopedia of Canadian Cuisine by Madame Jehane Benoit; La Varenne Practique by Annne Willan; The Way To Cook by Julia Child; The Art of Mexican Cooking by Diana Kennedy; Leaves From The Walnut Tree by Ann and Franco Taruschio; Time Life's The Cooking of Provincial France by MFK Fisher
