Correct! I stopped in this morning (@erwinchuk). Nice and bright along with a long standing bar. Hours are 7am-9pm, however, dinner entrees will not be available for a bit longer.

RBC?! hckybg, now you've got my attention. But, I think you would agree that RBC offering multiple roasters/brew methods is the exception. (Hurts to be spoiled)

Yes...close to the heart of the square. The Boston training will be in the mold of their other centers but double the size of New York. Yeah, I love living in Area 4. I gather you're excited for the opening of Dwelltime Coffee Bar as well?

Don't think I've seen any mention of Hi-Rise Bread Company that closed on Brattle St but should open any day now at 1663 Massachusetts Ave. Dining options should be more developed with possibly sit-down service. High-level coffee program will continue. I'm glad parking should be easier over there as well.

Counter Culture Coffee has been served at various spots around the city. Espresso Royale Caffe/Pavement Coffeehouse has been serving them and recently switched over to them as their house roaster. They'll be setting up a training center in Union Square ready sometime early-2012. Render Coffee (rendercoffeebar.com) will open soon and will feature guest roasters as well.

Shabu place open in H Sq

Yeah, I noticed it as I drove by yesterday. Did you eat there? Good to see a shabu place on this side of the river.

New Cooks Country Show - have you seen it?

The new Cook's Country show is a companion show to the Cook's Country magazine (as swamp guesses correctly). This is the debut season for the Cook's Country show. Anyone familiar with the magazine will recognize the lineage...country-style cooking/recipes. The show has its own set on a farm in VT. The ATK show will continue as it has been (next season has already been filmed and is in post-production). But, yes, you will notice the hosts are largely similar. However, each magazine has its own distinct staff.

Pea Tendrils?

FYI, Flats Mentor Farm is comprised of various farmers. One farm, Bolton Flats, is at Central Square (Mondays), Copley Square (Tuesdays), and Davis Square (Wednesdays).

Fantastic coffee

If you're in the Village, I would check out Cafe Collage (189 Bleecker Street at MacDougal Street), which is on the same block as Porto Rico. All coffee are French press offerings (pre-made or individual press pot) and are prepared with beans from Intelligentsia Coffee. On the 3-group Synesso they prepare espresso-based drinks with Intelligentsia's Black Cat. Drinks are poured to traditional volumes. There's a good amount of table seating and seated bar to enjoy the free wifi.

Coffee to go around 10th Ave. & 23rd St.

Cafe Grumpy would be your best bet. They've got 2 Clover machines (the latest in coffee brewing) to prepare your coffee to order. So you're guaranteed fresh and precisely extracted coffee. Currently they're featuring a handful of coffees from Counter Culture and Ecco Caffe. Also, they have a 3-group Synesso and are producing delicious shots of Ecco Reserve espresso. Seating is limited but don't let that stop you if it's great coffee you're looking for.

Village: cozy coffee & bakery places?

Agreed with stevebookman. But if you'd rather not deal with French Press, you can just order their ready-made French Press coffee. They're also pulling good Black Cat espresso on the 3-group Synesso. They offer pastries from Balthazar and Baked. There's a good number of tables and bar seating to enjoy the free wireless. A great place to linger (if you don't mind wooden chairs). It's my favorite place for coffee in the Village.

Best latte in NYC?

without hesitation, i would go to Cafe Grumpy and Ninth Street Espresso. Gimme Coffee, Gorilla Coffee, Joe: The Art of Coffee and Blue Spoon Coffee are good.

Restaurant Recommendation for Hoboken

Court Street Restaurant & Bar (American)
Karma Kafe (Indian)
Satay Malaysian Cuisine

Fantastic coffee

Gimme! does a good job...has well-trained baristas and roasts their own coffee. If you're out in Brooklyn (Greenpoint), I would highly recommend Cafe Grumpy. A nice space with art gallery in the rear. They're currently serving coffees from Counter Culture Coffee and Ecco Caffe. For those familiar with Cup of Excellence, they're also carrying some of those coffees as well. You can also have your coffee prepared via French press.

Fantastic coffee

Ninth Street Espresso is my favorite place for espresso...triple ristrettos on a Synesso. They're serving nice blends (currently Toscano and Five Country) from Counter Culture Coffee. The baristas are well trained and pour good latte art.

BUREKAS

i'm not real familiar with burekas but i've had real tasty ones from Djerdan (221 West 38th Street). They offer spinach, cheese, meat and potato varieties.
