Eleuthera
honestly not that many places to eat on eleuthera. the cove and tippys are the only two good restaurants. both are good. cove moe romantic, tippy more casual with good food. you can go to harbor island and eat in the fancy places there too - but be prepared for the crowds. eleuthera is great though, isolated beaches, so laid back, enjoy!
Mid range $ pre-theatre dinner 4th St and 2nd Ave.
cacio y vino, frank, caracas arepas, lavagna, mogador
cafe cortadito
thank you. how expensive? i know it used to be reasonable but i guess they've raised their prices? for example do you remember how much the churrasco was? i think it used to be around $17. they've taken prices off their website and menupages. could be a dealbreaker for us...
cafe cortadito
thanks! anyone have a recent experience, or experience with a group going there?
cafe cortadito
I've never been and always wanted to go. have a group dinner coming up and managed to reserve a table for 8 people on a friday night. From some recent reviews, it seems like it's gone downhill? Also, is it a good place for a group? i'm a little worried, having to wait a while even with a reservation, etc.
Thanks!
Cascabel Taqueria - UES
i had the carne asada and carnitas, both very good. Good guac too. diablo sauce was nice. impressed with these tacos especially considering the other taco options on the UES (or on the east side, period).
ouest, dovetail, telepan?
recently moved from the East Village uptown (upper east side, actually), and i am looking for a restaurant for a birthday dinner for my wife.
thoughts on these places. ouest looks good, but i read some reviews that say it is "stuffy" - is that true? we don't really like that feel, we are in our early 30s and like going out in the EV (ssam bar, frank, etc.) but want to try somwhere uptown).
any similar recs on the ues?
Mexican - apartment party in EV
i'm thinking trays of food, maybe make your own fajita, or maybe premade tacos / burritos, etc. Or trays of more authetic food. I'm pretty much open as long as it is mexican.
Mexican - apartment party in EV
Hi - looking for a mexican restaurant that will either deliver or prepare for pick up for a party of about 20 people. I am in the EV. Thinking maryann, el maguey, downtown bakery? I haven't called around yet, I wanted to see if anyone had any similar experiences that they could share.
Thanks!
Winebar-ish place for a first date
bar carrera would seem to it all 3, they expanded a few months ago so more personal space...generally not too crowded, even on wknds
must-haves at momofuku ssam?
last time i went i had the sichuan beef tendon and it was the best thing i had all night
Been to the Strip House?
goose fat potatoes, creamed spinach
for beer, you could go to jimmy's no. 43 ... it's a few blocks away though
or otto?
Great (cheap) Ethnic? PLZ HALP
you could try caracas arepas in the east village
also, look up places in chinatown on this board - plenty of places.
also, hummus place.
HELP - Quiet restaurant tonight nr 54 and 5
Hi - my wife's grandfather is in town and staying at the university club on 54th and 5th. We were going to have dinner at the hotel, but the restaurant is closed. Can someone recommend a quiet, nice restaurant that is within a 1-2 block radius for tonight???
Five Points for a Parents Dinner?
i just did this last saturday. i think it's great for a parents dinner. not too loud, solid food, good service. i wouldn't go on my own but great with the rents, especially on saturday night when other options are all loud and crowded.
apiary in EV
thoughts? good food? does it get loud on a weekend night?
taking the parents out for dinner saturday night and thought we'd try this place because it is in the neighborhood.
also thinking about jane.
any opinions or other suggestions would be most welcome...i'm not good at finding a place for a parents dinner, they don't want somewhere too loud, and i usually go to loud, inexpensive places.
Which is better: EMP or Modern Dining Room
i have a gift card to the union square hospitality group restaurants. i've been to gramercy tavern so looking to try something different. is EMP the way to go? it's pretty pricey (I would be spending more than the gift card to go there).
THE EU
Is it really that loud / crowded on a saturday night? i don't mind loud and lively, but don't want to go somewhere unbearable.
oh, and what to eat there?
any other suggestions for a group of 4 this saturday night in the east village? looking for a fun place, not too expensive, good food. italian it a possibility too.
thanks
Steak doneness usually wrong (specifically: how should I order my Keens porterhouse tomorrow?)
i agree. i ordered medium rare and it was more like medium. the sirloin side was especially overdone. i'd go with rare.
morandi?
yikes. is jane good for dinner. trying to find a place for a group of 6 in the west village, fun, nice, good food, american, bistro or italian.
morandi?
have reservations for sunday night - is it worth it? how does it compare to a place like Frank in the EV? any recommendations? Thanks.
Group (9) - Saturday Night - Ages vary
I am looking for a restaurant for a group of 9 people on saturday night in a couple of weeks - ethnic food though not asian (italian, greek, spanish, etc.)
anywhere on the east side, houston to murray hill
the group will include my grandfather, so while i'm not looking for total quiet, somewhere that is not too loud would be best.
thanks
