Bonefish Grill - Middletown
Blue Water Seafood in Red Bank was awlful. I posted a reviewed about a month ago. Bahr is worse and the Inlet Cafe has been hit or miss. Too many "misses" and we have not been back in over a year. The best fish dishes in the area are still at the Belford Bistro.

Belford Bistro (Belford NJ)
I cannot say enough good things about this BYOB restaurant. We went to celebrate our 11th anniversary on Friday. We started the clam appetizer and spring vegetable gnoochi - both excellent but the gnoochi was the best I have in some time. We both had the Monk Fish special over lump crab risotto - all I can say is WOW. We finished with the chunky monkey dessert - a perfect ending. The service was once again perfect with Danielle proving the correct level without interruptions. It made for a perfect evening.
Blue Water Seafood - Red Bank
We decided to try something different in Red Bank on Sunday night. We got seated upstairs quickly (@6:45) – the stairs are steep but décor was appealing. We had a honey-ginger-soy calamari appetizer - it was different and tasteful, but after a 3-4 pieces, the sweet honey taste was overwhelming. My wife ordered the Buffalo scallops and I had the Lobster Raviolis based on some other website reviews. The scallops were awful – overcooked and the sauce to over the top. The Lobster raviolis at $27 were very disappoint – essentially puree lobster in a pasta envelop without any lobster chunks – way over priced. In fact, the last one I ate was undercooked and cold inside.
As the place got crowded, the diners and wait staff had a difficult time moving around upstairs – bumping our chairs repeatedly as we were seated in a center table - get a wall or corner table if you do venture in. In fact, the manager stopped by to talk to a neighboring table and his butt was essentially in my wife back for 5 minutes until she politely moved her chair into him. He got the hint. The place was extremely noisy. I found it interesting that the wait staff had to run the food up from downstairs creating more traffic on the steps. The place is a BYOB – I always thought at a BYOB you were only allowed beer or wine, but I saw one table pouring out a little flash of I think scotch and another serving from a small Absolut vodka bottle.s We should have gone to Belford Bistro.

Rigoletto Trattoria , a BYOB in Middletown - www.rigolettotrattoria.com
Piccola Itlaia - in Ocen - www.piccolaitalianj.com
Atlantic City Steak Dinner - Tuesday Night
Old Homestead in the Borgata is the best in my opinion.
North of the Border Red Bank
Not listed on the Monmouth County Inspection site - http://www.mcrhc.org/RI-Red-Bank.html; it however could be delayed.

Rigoletto's Trattoria in Middletown Nj anyone?
We have been eating at Rigoletto's about once a month for the last year. It is by far the best Italian restaurant in Monmouth County. We had two pasta dishes last night - Farfalle Tutti and Bocatine Bella - both were outstanding. I am planning to eat the remainder of my wife's Farfalle today for lunch. They added more couple seating - I just wish the seats were a little more comfortable but I can tolerate it for great food.

Burgers Near Red Bank
Danny's Steakhouse has very good burger. It is better than The Downtown in my opinion, but I still prefer Barnacles Bill's
Terrazza's Nutley
Helping my sister-in-law all day at a yard sale, she took us to Terrazza's in Nutley. She has always raved about the place but this was our first visit. We arrived around 6 and 5-6 tables were occupied. Service was good and attentive. WIne selection was decent.. We started with balsamic calamari with sausage - it was spicy and tasty. I would definitely have it again. We order two of the specials (Halibut with escarole and Shrimp pasta with a cognac sauce) and Shrimp Terrazza (this is not on the menu). All were very good to excellent. The desert menu was weak, but we went to the Petite Cafe for stuff cupcakes anyway.
The place is quaint and friendly with parking in the rear. We will definitely be back when we are in the area.

Pazzo's Red Bank
Service was good until they got busy. They had only one experience bartender in my opinion (the lone female). We had some good glass of wine ($13/ glass). Love Jersey Shore - it was like watching an episode of the "aged" Jersey shore of BENNYS moving south after making their due in the world financial center or their ego thought they made it. We will probable go for cocktails for the laughs.
Pazzo's Red Bank
Finally made it to Pazzo’s this Saturday, we arrived at 6:15PM and decided to sit at the bar. We could have been seated only 5-6 tables were occupied. At the bar, there were four couples. We were promptly greeted and ordered two glass of wine and perused the menu. It is essentially a hybridize Italian-American restaurant menu. The bartenders had to read the 3 daily special items from a yellow notepad. We ordered the scallop appetizer that were cooked to perfection and very tasty (Chef Ramsey would have been proud ; )) . For entrees, we ordered the Funghi Pizza and Linguini Frutti Di Mare. Both were very tasty and cooked well. I was surprised that I did not receive any bread with the pasta dish. We ordered another round and all was proceeding well. The bar and dinning room started to get crowded and then we became invisible, not being acknowledged for over 20 minutes. It did not bother us because we were watching all the people being full of themselves attempting to impress each other – YCMTSU what we were observing. We were going to have another round but being invisible we could not get attention on any bartender – this is when we saw one of the male bartender continually rubbing his nose, sneeze and put his hand in the drink garnishes. This really disturbed me so we decide to get the check. As we were leaving, Pazzo’s was fully packed with 4-5 groups waiting. We got our free parking ticket validated by hostess and laugh the way home.
The décor is nice but the place is overly loud. In the beginning we could hear all the clanging and clatter from the kitchen and as the place became fuller patrons needed to talk louder. They need to install some form of noise dampening. I also thought the bar could have been designed better – it is extremely difficult for the shorter bartender to reach the patron.
Overall, it was slightly expensive ($96 before tip). We however will probably be back to people watch.
looking for the best rueben in monmouth county
I second Kelly's but as I have aged I can only eat the half rueben. Chlorestrol is just too high but Lipitor helps - better living with drugs.
Best burger in Mon/OC?
Although not MON/OC, I had a fabulous burgers at Nick's Burger Bar in the Hilton in Atlantic City. It was a perfectly cooked Angus burger with portabella mushrooms. The home made potato chips were also an unexpected pleasure. If in the mood for a burger in AC, I would not pass it up.
best sushi in Monmouth county?
Tonight we went to Sallee Tee's, I was not expecting to get sushi, but it rivaled Kanji. The sashimi was unbelievably fresh and the rainbow roll was great. I need to get back to see if they can maintain it.
Belford Bistro (Belford NJ)
When last night to celebrate my wife's birthday - this has become our go to place for great food in Monmouth County. Surprisingly, only 5 tables were occupied, but as always the food was outstanding. We started with the salad special that had arugula, cucumbers and cherries with a balsamic vinaigrette and a`crab cake. I never pass up the crab cake. My wife and I both had the fish special Mako Shark with a mild wasabi undertone. We both loved it. I have come to the conclusion that their fish specials are always top notch. No dessert this time around.

Sal's Original - Shrewsbury
I just noticed that they have a restuarant mentioned on their website. (http://www.salsoriginal.com ).
Has anyone tried the restuarant?
Pazzo's Red Bank
Just noticed that a new place will be opening on West Front Street. I only see a Facebook page. Does anyone know opening date or menu?
Best Sushi in Monmouth?- Let's hear your opinion
Kanji in Shrewsbury - Is the best in my opinion.
Avoid Sawa in Long Branch. Tinton Falls location is variable, but good during busy Spring - Summer. Winter Holiday time aovid it.
I also likes Teak and The Downtown in Red Bank for a different pace.
Monmouth County Bartenders
Christine at Danny's Steakhouse in Red Bank. My wife says she makes the best cosmo. I just enjoy her attitude and upbeat personality.
Brickwall (Asbury Park)
Brickwall was my go to place for comfort food (meatloaf, potatoes, veggies loaded with gravy). I also liked the chicken and my wife loved the turkey chili. However, our last few visits the quality and service has started to deteriorate – making me question, what I liked about the place? I should have seen the writing on the wall – first the meatloaf veggie changed from peas and carrots to green beans to cauliflower to none at all (you need to order a side now). You also got two large slices of meatloaf with good seasoning and now you get three thin bland slices without veggies for the same price. I think the chicken also has gotten smaller but my wife thinks I am crazy. I guess the chef's have changed and management probably is watching as closely - but regular patrons do notice small changes.
The one saving grace is the beer is still good, but they need to get rid of the band set-up area and place some more hi-top tables so I can seat, eat and enjoy the games.
