Matyson for Valentine's Day?

Matyson is fantastic. Be sure to try the Coconut Creme Pie and the Truffle Fries are always great. The tables by the door are fine - don't worry about getting cold as the door opens and closes. They keep the cold air contained with a big curtain as you enter.
Enjoy!

Personal Chef in Dallas

Any recommendations for a prepared meals/personal chef service in Dallas? Would like to get a few weeks of one of these for my sister in law and her family, but not sure which services are good. Food doesn't need to be fancy, just reliable and good. Thanks!

Any suggestions...good food and excellent service in LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ [moved from Midwest board]

Lawrenceville Inn is fantastic, and close by. Blue Point Grill, Mediterra, and Acacia (I wouldn't put it in the "too upscale category) are other nice ideas. All but Mediterra are BYO...

What's the strangest, or best, food you have eaten at a State Fair, stadium, or other outdoor venue?

at the north carolina state fair, i experienced a deep fried cheeseburger. i had been looking forward to the deep fried twinkies, but the cheeseburger outranked the twinkie in terms of taste.

What's something unique that you do when you cook?

i save chicken necks and gizzards, as well as skin all year, and then make my grandmother's fricasse from the necks and gizzards (accompanied with small meatballs) and gribenes and schmaltz from the skins (fried chicken skins with onion, which I affectionately refer to as Jewish bacon, and rendered chicken fat). This probably isnt' all that strange to anyone with eastern european Jewish roots, but to the unindoctrinated, it seems a bit wierd...
