OOOOH I just tried Squire's in Briarcliff Manor. WOW 10 oz perfectly cooked smothered in bleu cheese with PHENOMINAL sweet potato fries. $9. Not to be missed!

Aires de Colombia - White Plains

For the record, locals refer to it as La Frontera. La Fonda Paisa also on Post Rd has excellent small empanadas and great sweet salsa. Brownie on Martine also pretty good, slightly larger. Colombian emanadas are the best!! IMO

Best hot dog joints in Jersey

The atmosphere is that of a truck stop without chairs. That crap they call their secret relish looks EXACTLY like vomit and tastes like crushed up squash, weird. Callahans ruled. Best dogs, best O rings, big f'ing beers!

Well I read 166 posts to confirm I was not being redundant like so many here. If you want a great burger go to So Dam Hot in Valhalla. $7 includes fries. Meat is delivered daily and it makes a difference. When your burger comes out resist the temptation and let some of the juice disperse back into the meat before biting. Perfectly toasted bun holds most of the juice but its not easy. Just delicious. Briefly about the place, this is a burger joint plain and simple. I think they have three tables.

Lomo Saltados: Where to find tasty portions?

I just tried Costa Verde too. Fries were soft, steak was chewy. Also this had a thicker "gravy" than I have ever seen on a lomo. And for $14?? Pass. The search continues. So far the best of 3 is La Cabana.

Midrange "interesting" dinner

Im from NY too and I always bring my out of towner friends to Granville Moores. Its a nice diversion outside of downtown for me too. Not cheap but worth the trip and probably something your friends will remember when they go home. Great food, cool, kinda run down place(faux or not) with extensive Belgian beer selections. Mussels and fries to die for.

Lomo Saltados: Where to find tasty portions?

El Chalans lomo is not even remotely close to "spectacular". Small, no searing of the steak, soft fries, average aji. Average is the word that comes to mind. If that is the best this area has to offer move to NY.

BBQ Ribs - Where to eat

I cant believe that no one here refers to the rib type. Im from NY where ribs means baby backs. Apparently anywhere south of NJ it means KC style which are usually terrible, fatty with big chunks of cartilage. Please keep in mind when your recommendeing locations to include if they have a choice of rib.
