Alberto's, now in Van Nuys

I believe this is the first Alberto's outside of the Inland Empire, Orange County, and San Diego County. What took them so long? I've been waiting for their California burrito to make it to the LA area forever, now they're here. If you haven't had a California burrito it's got carne asada, french fries, sour cream, and maybe two kinds of cheeses all wrapped into a toasty tortilla; it's heveanly.

It's so new that I don't believe it's even in any of the online directories yet but it's on Vanowen just west of Van Nuys Bl, northwest corner.

venice beach boardwalk suggestions

great suggestions all around, now what about suggestions for off the boardwalk? personally, the boardwalk/tourist food scares me and if my guest tire of the scene or smell of venice i need some off the boardwalk options in venice.

venice beach boardwalk suggestions

so i've got out of towners to entertain for an afternoon and of course they wanna check out venice beach. i'm sure they'll wanna have lunch at a restaurant with a patio where they can people watch, soak in the atmosphere, and relax over a pitcher of sangria. any suggestions?

Shin Sen Gumi (moterey park) for yakitori

so i'll be dining here tonight for the first time, any tips/suggestions?

i'll be looking to try the chicken skin, chicken liver, quail eggs, and chicken hearts. should i go with the $20 assorted yakitori platter? are the skins/liver/eggs/heart included in the platter? what's the difference between the heart and special heart?

New to the SF. Valley. Where are the best places to eat??

off the top of my head...

el faro tacos in san fernando. great pastor tacos.

el taurino tacos in panorama city. great barbacoa flautas.

the stand in encino. great hot dogs.

ueru-ka-mu sushi in tarzana.

puro sabor in van nuys for peruvian.

so many more but can't think of any at the moment.

Truly Superb Al Pastor Near the 110 and the 5

if you're in the sylmar/san fernando area there's a taco shop called el faro tacos. they're on maclay, plus they have a taco truck on san fernando rd late nights. the pastor is the best i've had. amazing flavor and garnished with no onions or cilantro but with pineapples.

Best buffet in Vegas? [Moved from Elsewhere in America]

the wynn is by far, hands down, the best in all of vegas. it's also kinda pricey though.

when not on the strip and depending on which part of the valley i'm in then it's either red rock casino or green valley ranch resort. they both offer the best value.

when i wanna go cheap i'll go with the buffet inside the luxor. i don't know if it's so much the food or that i feel like i'm dining in the set of an indiana jones movie but what ever it is i always enjoy my experience there.

hiddem gems in the van nuys area?

the korean restaurant (i forget the name) on the corner of sherman way and van nuys on the same corner as the boston market is pretty good.

as others have mentioned, the ranch house (excellent tri tip salad), puro sabor, and the thai scene on sherman way that begins east of woodman.

Best Taco Stands in LA

king taco in pasadena. the other king taco locations are larger but serve mass produced food. i like my carne asada tender yet a little toasty, you just can't get that from the larger locations. they're too busy trying to fulfill the hundreds of orders. the pasadena location, however, is consistently good. besides the tacos and burritos, try the sopes.
