Dining Recommendations for Montreal

Hey all,

A friend and I are heading to Montreal next weekend and would appreciate some recommendations. We are not bound by price or cuisine, but nothing too romantic please. Recommendations for dinner, lunch, breakfast, and snacks are all welcome. Also, are there any "must eats" in Montreal?

Thanks!

A place for fried chicken

Bar Americain has a fried chicken special every Monday night and it's pretty good.

Last trip to NYC: Gramercy Tavern. This time?

With all do respect, Basilica is not in the same universe as Babbo.

Hells Kitchen Spots

Daisy May's (46th and 11th), Pepe Giallo (25th and 10th), Cookshop (20th and 10th), Pam Real or Wonde Siam on 9th Ave for Thai.

the Half King is a pretty good bar/pub too - with good food (23rd and 10th)

Lunch options by 6th ave and Walker

Agree with Walker's -- great burgers. South's has pretty good pub food as well. Bazzini makes great sandwiches.

Private Room or Dining Area for 16

I'm sure there are plenty more that I will think of, but two that immediately jump to mind are the Harrison and Puttenesca.

Thinking of going to Keen's and have 2 questions

I agree with those who have recommended that if you go to Keens, you should get the mutton. It really is great. If you just want a good steak, there are, in my opinion, much better places to go. For example, I would recommend Sparks. They have a bar area with televisions, so you can sit by yourself, have an amazing steak, and catch whatever game is on at the same time. Just a thought.

Chumley's?

Bill's Gay Nineties on E. 54th between Park and Madison.

Help. Pre-theater. btwn 53st/7th & 46th/Bway

Oops, didn't see that. Sorry.

Help. Pre-theater. btwn 53st/7th & 46th/Bway

Insieme on 51st and 7th (in the Michelangelo Hotel) would be great. It's the new place from the people behind Hearth. Ate there last week and it was very good.

best coffee in manhattan

Bottega Del Vino on 59th b/w 5th and Madison makes GREAT espresso and other espresso drinks. Other rec's in the midtown-area are FIKA -- a Sweedish espresso bar on 58th b/w 5th and 6th -- and Zibetto -- an Italian espresso bar at 56th and 6th.

Lunch in Tribeca?

Max just opened an outpost in Tribeca. Haven't been there yet, but the EV original is fantastic and very reasonably priced. Walker's is another good, reasonably-priced option.

New York City Trip Restaurant List: other recommendations?

I agree that you should nix BLT Burger. There are much better burger places if that's what you are looking for. Also, while I love Grimaldi's, if you want to go to Brooklyn for Pizza, you might as well make the trip to Di Fara's.

In Search for the Best Porterhouse

Ben and Jack's is great. I also just had the porterhouse at Porter House in Time Warner and thought it was terrific.

Anyone been to Milk & Honey

Death & Co. Try it.

Best steakhouse...

I second Sparks or Del Frisco's. IMHO, the best two steakhouses on the isle of Manhattan.

what to eat @ cookshop

Eaten there a few times and everything I've had has been delicious. Can't say that any one dish stood out that much that I would consider it a "must eat" though. I would advise you to just go, see the menu, and order what sounds best to you at that time. I guarantee you will enjoy it.

Dallas for one night -- where to eat?!?!

All--

I will traveling to Dallas from NYC for one night in a few weeks and I am looking for some recommendations for dinner, but would welcome breakfast/lunch suggestions as well. Price is not an issue; I just want a great meal/meals. Prefer something uniquely Texan -- i.e., steakhouse, bbq joint, or tex-mex -- welcome any all suggestions. Thanks so much in advance.

Great Lunch Place on a Budget in tribeca?

Agree with all of the previous posts, especially Walkers -- great burgers. For good sandwiches and soups, try Columbine on W Broadway (a few blocks North of Worth), and Bazzini, which is on Greenwhich and Jay. Both are pretty much take-out places, but are both excellent.

Any Queens rec's??

Where should 50 women eat in Manhattan?

What about something like Carmine's or Tony's Di Napoli?? Not the best Italian food in the city, but certainly good for large groups.

Afterwards, you should all head over to my apartment =)

Dinner Rec's in D.C. (Dupont area)

Price doesn't matter. Looking for either a good steak, or maybe something ethnic like Indian, Middle Eastern, Thai, etc. Very little that I don't eat. Thanks!

Dinner Rec's in D.C. (Dupont area)

I'm in town from NYC for one night, and I'm staying in a Hotel near Dupont. Any recommendations for dinner in this area? Not looking for anything too fancy. Thanks!

Where to eat in Little Italy

All good choices. I would add Lupa and Max to that list.

DON'T EAT IN LITTLE ITALY!!!

Best Manhattan Pizza

Agreed. DeMarco's was VERY disappointing.

Recs for lunch/dinner take out in chinatown

Thanks!

Drink Ideas Before Bouley

I second Brandy Library

rec's on what to have at Keens

As an alternative, the bacon cheeseburger there is fantastic

My friends wanted to go to Little Italy....

I agree with some of the previous recommendations, but why not a few more? How about Enoteca Barbone, Bianca, Apizz, or Peasant?

Recs for lunch/dinner take out in chinatown

Hi - recently started a new job near chinatown and am looking for recs for good take-out lunches (and dinners for the late nights in the office). Recs for other (non-chinatown) places in the area (tribeca/city hall) are also welcomed. Thanks in advance.

My New York itinerary -comments and suggestions please!

Agreed. But if you really want a burger at a place "unique to New York," head to Peter Luger's. I would also suggest Spotted Pig (if you like roquefort).
