Spring 2011 Restaurant Week in the Twin Cities
I found this review interesting because our best Restaurant Week meal was also at Fogo de Chao. It was the only place that actually seemed happy to have us dining there. The staff was all so attentive and pleasant. I enjoyed everything I had tried, and thought the "salad bar" was amazing. I too would have preferred a little less salt on some of the meats, but overall had a great time. I had two underwhelming meals at Barbette and Cosmos. The service and food at both these places was subpar. I actually had to eat leftover pizza after getting back from Cosmos because I was still starving when I got home. I am sure people will disagree because Fogo is a chain but the food tasted good and the staff was much better than any of the other two places I went.
Where to get Corned Beef?
They have some affordable Corned Beef at Costco right now. I bought one last year and it was quite tasty.
VIP Theater/"Theaters at MOA"--how's the food?
The bacon popcorn there is DELICIOUS! They also have some desserts that are pretty tasty.
Sufganiyot (Hanukkah donuts)
I believe that Fishman's in St. Louis Park has what you are looking for.
Where can I find a whole pig in MSP?
I would try Nelson's Meat in Hopkins. I know they also do pig roasts so they do have whole pigs.

Wonton Soup Suggestions?
The wonton soup at Quang is delicious - as is all of their soups!
MSP: Western 'burb sources of free-range chicken and grass-fed beef
I know for sure that Nelson's has free range chicken. They have local MN pork but I am not sure if it is organic. Everything I have had there has been really good and they have a great butcher. They are located in Hopkins so that fits your close to 169 requirement.

MSP - Low Sodium Vegetarian Restaurant Options?
Have you tried Good Earth? They have several vegetarian options and "serves seasonal, fresh, unprocessed produce, organic where indicated and locally sourced when possible." Good luck on your search! I have not had a bad meal there yet :)
MSP- Clam Chowder
Have you tried Manhattan's? I believe they offer Manhattan clam chowder one day a week.

MSP Best Butcher/Grocery for Steaks
I really like the steak at Costco. They have butchers on site and they often have Prime cuts.
summer trip to Minneapolis
You didn't miss much. After hearing a few positive reviews I went a few weeks ago and thought it was awful. My crepe was soggy, bland and $7.00. I had asked for no whipped cream but it was still slathered all over it. When I complained, she did not offer to remake it and I ended up trying to scrape it off. The employee sat and talked on her cell phone the entire time (raining outside so had to eat at the counter) and somehow I felt like I was violating her privacy. I will be happy to never return. Hope the rest of your MSP travels are better!
Jfood needed Izzy (MSP) and it came through
Izzy's was listed as one of the best 9 Ice Cream shops in the US according to MSN. Obviously the tester didn't try every possible ice cream place but it is cool that Izzy's made the list. Here is the link to the article:

The Tin Fish on Lake Calhoun - tons of dogs there. :)
Good french fries in MSP?
I knew you would like them!! When they opened, we went like 3 times that week because we missed them so much. It has been about a year since moving here from NY and they really hit the spot. I agree about the line but thankfully it goes pretty quick. Plus you can munch on peanuts to pass the time. You wanna talk about lines.........try going to Burger Jones........................
Good french fries in MSP?
Haha. True they are a bit greasy but that's part of the appeal. Since they are looking for Fair-like fries I figured greasy would be good. Plus they are cheap! I hate going out to eat and spending $7 on fries and being disappointed with them. Five Guys recently opened a location in Edina on France Ave.
Good french fries in MSP?
Have you tried the fries at Five Guys? Yes it is a chain but the fries are hand cut Idoha potatos and are cooked in 100% peanut oil. The portions are huge and they do remind me of State Fair fries.
Bundaberg Ginger Beer in MSP?
Trader Joe's sells Ginger Beer but I can't recall the brand name of it.
All you can eat crab legs-MSP
I did see that on the menu and asked about it but was told that it is not AYCE.
All you can eat crab legs-MSP
Crave has all you can eat Prime Rib & Crab Legs for $24.99 on Sunday nights. I went to the Edina location in Galleria.............everything was good except for the side of fettucini alfredo. I believe they also opened a second location in the MOA.
Ingredients Needed (Twin Cities)
Costco sells Jamaican Blue Mountain Coffee and it is delicious!
MSP: Hiawatha Pizza Halal (NY Style Pizza)
Did you happen to see if they offer broccoli slices? I have moved here from NY almost a year ago and am still searching for a broccoli pizza with ricotta that doesn't suck!

MSP: "Best" Grocery Store
I totally know how you feel. I moved here from NY about 6 months ago and it took me forever to find places to shop. I miss Hannaford and Price Chopper and would give my right arm for a Wegman's!!! The first time I walked in a Cub I was disgusted. The store was dirty and smelled bad. I went for some deli meat and found that they preslice the deli items and leave them in sitting the case all day. The guy looked at me like I was nuts because I wanted freshly sliced ham....at that point I just walked out. I have found a few different stores for different items. I like the Byerly's in St. Louis Park for cheese, good butcher's, Kosher options and always find it to be clean but basic items are more expensive. I do go to Trader Joe's and prefer the Maple Grove location. They seem to be better stocked than other locations I have tried and the customers are less aggressive. Costco is where we get meats and some produce and I find the butchers there to be very helpful. Super Target (in St. Louis Park) is hit or miss. It seems like they are very slow restocking the shelves. Yesterday we went for 3 times and two of them I couldn't get because the shelves were empty........saltines and Grape Nuts. Good luck with your search!!
[MSP] Cara Cara oranges at Mississippi Mkt, St. Paul
They had some at Costco the other day.
Vegan Friendly in MSP?
Have you tried Hard Times Cafe? If you don't mind the whole punk rock grunge atmosphere...... I have a hard time eating when the Ramones are busting out my eardrums BUT the food was pretty good and they serve breakfast all day.
Also you can try Little Tel Aviv. They have some vegan friendly food.

Mr. Clean Magic Erasers
I have actually used them on my glass top stop and it worked well. Scotch Brite has a new glass stove top cleaner that is very similar to the Magic Eraser.
