Good spots in Guelph
I enjoyed the new Baker St Station. Its more of a gastro pub than a bar, lots of local beers on tap and great food. if you're going on a weekend, reservations are a must.
http://www.bakerstreetstation.ca/
Other good places are Bin 23, Babel Fish Bistro, La Cucina, all of which are located downtown.
K/W area dining suggestion needed
Go with Verses! Food and service is outstanding. It is a lot more formal than Nick and Nat's.
I used to like Rundles but after reading the ignorant and condescending responses from Rundles manager on trip advisor i will never ever visit that restaurant again!

Downtown Restaurants Open for Sunday Dinner
My fave place for fine dining on a Sunday is Opus Restaurant on Prince Arthur. I have been going there for years, never had a bad meal.
Rolling Rock Beer
Go to Buffalo you can get a 30 pack of Rolling Rock for about 17 bucks. I like NY state, the stores down there don't hate microbreweries like the Beer Stores in Ontario do
Waterloo on Sunday night
Sole is independent. I could be wrong but i think the owners also own the Blackshop in Cambridge.
Waterloo on Sunday night
Sole would be my pick! I love that place, I find the steak at Sole's better than the steak at the Charcoal Steakhouse.
What is good in Guelph?
I remember my last visit to The Other Brothers Fine Dining, the food and service was phenomenal. Sad to say this place has gone right down hill! Our table of 5 all ordered appetizers which were plated nicely, I had the sea food trio app, i just wish it tasted as good as it looked, the shrimp was a tad gritty tasting, and the Vodka cured salmon didn't taste all that fresh, the mini crab cake was the best part of the dish.
The main courses arrived and every single entree at the table was cold because the plates were freezing cold!! Most restaurants warm the plates before the plating food, when i brought this up with the owner "Sarah" her excuse for freezing cold plates is "we don't want customer's to burn themselves on hot plates". " we don't want any lawsuits" What A JOKE! So we sent all our dishes back to be warmed up, three of us at the table had to send our steaks back a second time because they were still cold as well the steaks were dried out! The owner reassured us they will cook up a new steaks for us. That's something they should have done in the first place! The young girl filling our water stood around most of the time doing nothing even though our table was full of empty dishes and glasses. This is the first restaurant i have been to where i had to ask the server if she could kindly remove our dirty glasses and plates.
Next came our desserts, which was yet another disappointment, by now i just wanted to get out of there. My Raspberry Creme Brulee was over cooked and had ONE single little raspberry sitting on top.
It's a real shame this place has lost it's edge the inside is gorgeous with local art on the walls and a real wood burning fire place, The owner on the other hand is absolutely miserable and the wait staff are way too inexperience to be working in fine dining. I wont return and now i wish i had have gone to Envers or Bin 23 instead

Best breakfast in Guelph?
Eggcetra Restaurant & Deli, isn't part of any chain, It is the best breakfast joint in the city the prices are a bit higher and there can be long waits but it is worth it. Willowside on willow rd makes not a bad cheap breakfast, i was only there once.
places in/around the Sheraton
Little Anthnoy's is a great little spot for a quick meal with great service at resonable prices, I been there a few times before the opera. The Keg is probably the last place in that area i would eat at I find the food and service very very slow there.
What is good in Guelph?
I don't recall calling Langdon Hall a guelph restaurant i said its near by. duh, Just because a restaurant's website fails to "impress "you doesn't mean its not good. and it's not fine dining its bistro dining
What is good in Guelph?
Have you ate at La Cucina , Bin 23, Babel Fish bistro, and Other Brothers and near by in the town of Blair is Langdon Hall ?
I would say one of the best is Bin 23. Those places aren't roadhouses.

cynalan do you even you live in guelph? If you can't find a decent restaurant in the guelph area maybe you should move some place else.
Where to eat in Kitchener
Fine dining. Best spot is Verses. http://www.versesrestaurant.ca
Restaurants near Sheraton Centre in Toronto
I have stayed at the Hilton next door to the Sheraton. On their club floor the alcoholic drinks are complimentary. They serve one of the best hotel continental breakfast too, lots of healthy options.
Guelph Eats
a few places on your list i need to try! I love the fat duck too the burger there is amazing. i heard Bistro Six has new owners and new menu.
And i hate to see Artisanale fail! i love the atmosphere and concept of the place. But the chef/ owner needs to wake up look how busy the other bistros are downtown his place is almost always dead when i walk by at dinner hours. Revamp the menu and hire a new chef, or that place will be closed in no time.
Guelph Eats
June? i don't think they will last that long. The only reason i went to Artisanale was back in November all the other restaurants downtown were fully booked up on a Friday night. We arrived there was only a few tables there, Don't get me wrong its a beautiful restautant, but there is no need to have tables that close together when there is plenty of room, our table for two felt like a table for six. The hostess kept seating couples right next to us when the entire restaurant was empty, people kept asking to sit some where else i don't blame them!
Guelph Eats
I wasn't to impressed with Artisanale. I found the food portions small. The steak frites lacked any presentation and the steak was thin and had no flavor. Guelph does have some nice Bistros
Bistro dining
Bin 23. www.bin23.ca I have always had great dinners there.
Babelfish Bistro. 80 Macdonell Street
Atmosphere Cafe ( amazing thin crust pizza) www.atmospherecafe.ca
For fine dining
The Other Brothers www.otherbrothers.ca been going here for about 10 years menu hasn't changed much the food and service is top notch.
La Cucina, one of the best Italian restaurants in the area. It's closed till feb 3 www.cucinaguelph.ca
If you want curry. Diana Downtown has the best curry in the city as well as some non curry dishes. http://www.dianadowntown.ca/welcome.cfm
Also good. http://www.cardenstreetcafe.ca/
I would avoid eating at most of pubs downtown . The best pub grub in the city is the Woolwich Arrow. Lots of micro beers on tap http://www.woolwicharrow.ca/
West end of guelph has a new place borealis bar and grill. Pretty decent food at good prices. a lot of their products come from Ontario farmers. www.borealisgrille.ca/
Rolling Rock Beer
Rolling Rock is great beer for a cheap price. It's to bad beer in Ontario is so over priced and the beer stores carry a poor selection of beer. The only way your going to see more American and foreign beers in ontario is if they privatize their stores.
Langdon Hall?
www.versesrestaurant.ca Always had amazing dinner's there and they are open for lunch.
Fave Ontario Beer
So many amazing micro breweries in Ontario. It's to bad the LCBO and beer stores are against them making it impossible to find some of these brands in the stores.
Langdon Hall?
I have had about 5 meals 20 hobsin both food and service are fantastic next to Langdon Hall and Verses it's one of the best restaurant and in the K-W cambridge area.
"OK, I'm sensing a theme here...blackshop also has goulash and schnitzel..."
Well obviously it's located near Kitchener home of Oktoberfest. Large German population in the area.
Wolfgang Puck evicted on Sheppard at Yonge
The Pucks in Niagara Falls is really good quality for a chain.
What's new in K/W?
i'm not a huge fan of the blackshop. I haven't been to their new location yet. I love the new 20 hobsin st restaurant in the old blackshop location. I have been there about 4 times so far the service and food is spot on. They re done the decor as well. The tables aren't as close together as they were at the blackshop and they got rid of the bright pastel color scheme, the decor is much more elegant.

One - Review
Wow thanks for the review! i almost had dinner at One a few months back but the place was booked so i ended up at Opus and had one of the best meals in my life.
Dinner at the King Edward hotel?
I will be staying at the King Eddie for one night next week, anyone been to Victoria's at the hotel? I wont have a lot of time so i'm looking for someting close by for a nice dinner i'm not worried about price.
Winterlicious - Tundra (pleasant surprise)
I love Tundra it's the best restaurant in the area that's close to Four Seasons Centre. I have had the lamb and the steak there both were good portions didn't have any room for dessart. On my last visit there i was seated at a table next to Geddy Lee from Rush lol.
Best Pizza in Guelph
The only cool pizza places i can think of is Atmosphere Cafe downtown they have some pizza's as well as other foods. and little more up scale is Manhattans Bistro & Jazz Club www.manhattans.ca
Flow in Yorkville (Toronto)
I was there over the summer and found it mediocre & disappointing. Next time i go there it will be just for drinks.
Opinions on Tundra?
I had dinner there three times this year I think they have a new chef. i found food and service to be excellent it's a great spot to go before or after a show at the Four Seasons Centre.
