Green corn tamales
Thanks, I've heard they have good ones at El Cholo but I do everything possible to avoid that place. I guess I'll have to break down and give them a try.
REVIEW w/ pics: Melting Pot Farmer's Market and 3rd Street Food Walking Tour
My friend and I did this tour yesterday and had a great time also. I've been to the Farmer's Market a million times but it was fun to do it at such a leisurely pace and to get the back story on a lot of the little places that have been around for so long at the Farmer's Market.
Lisa and Diane are extremely down-to-earth and knowledgeable. We also found it to be quite a value, The tastings were all very generous and I was more than satiated by the end of the tour. I know that they are planning to put together tours of other areas in LA. I wish them much success and look forward to their other culinary tours.
Green corn tamales
I had the best green corn tamales ever at El Chavo many years back. I can never get over there though and have never found any place that even comes close. They were very tender, sweet and delicious. Has anyone run across really good green corn tamales, preferably on the westside? Thank you!
Cake at Vanilla Bake Shop?
I agree with the last comment. Just this week I bought a sampling of their little cupcakes and found them to be very dry. Too bad because they look beautiful.
Korean BBQ or Churrascaria for Bday dinner
We are taking my Dad out for a birthday dinner and are looking for a place that is nice but will work with kids (7-10 years old). Everyone loves meat so we thought either Korean BBQ or Brazilian churrascaria. Fogo de Chao will add up quick (our treat). Any other suggestions for good meat and nice atmosphere that won't break our bank account?
