Large group dinner in Cleveland near Progressive Field

Thanks. I didn't mean this Saturday night, to be clear. About a month from now.

Financial district or travel

Check out Le District at Brookfield Place and maybe Blue Smooke or El Vez for another meal. In FiDi there Da Claudio, Les Halles, lots of places on Stone Street. Pier A if it's nice weather has great views. All of these are casual and in price range.

Large group dinner in Cleveland near Progressive Field

Hello – I am looking for a Saturday dinner option (starting around 6pm) near Progressive Field (walking distance), for about 25 people. Private room not needed but a plus. There will be a few children in the mix too. Any suggestions? Casual dining fine.

Help us plan our Paris trip food-wise

My husband and I are going to Paris for 4 days and would love some recommendations on where to eat. We live & eat in NYC, late 30s, traveling without our small children. We are well-traveled but neither of us knows Paris well. We are not that focused on sights. Honestly want to eat great food, shop & wander, spa, enjoy some nightlife, etc. We are staying in the 1st, at Le Meurice but expect to frequent other areas in the evening.

We do not require any high French meals, mostly interested in modern bistro-like places. Le Dome and Au Passage and Frenchie are on the list. Any feedback? I would love to know some favorite bakeries and cafés for macarons, croissants, chocolate and tea. (Though I live in nyc so have been to Laduree and Maison du Chocolat. Love them but will the original be much different?) French onion soup is a favorite dish as is escargot. We have been to Au Pied du Cochon in Montreal -- is it also a must-do in Paris? Am open to suggestions, we will be checking out several neighborhoods so happy to hear about favorites.

40 Something overweight couple looking for nice lounge or quiet place to have drinks and some food after a show...

You don't mention cuisine... But here are some ideas:

French -- Lafayette or Les Halles
Italian -- Babbo, Maialino, Locanda Verde
Brunch -- Sarabeths
Asian -- Kuma Inn (byob), Chinatown for lunch

3 nights in the Financial District

Too bad your trip isn't next year! The Brookfield Place food hall will be open by them. I'd also suggest walking to Tribeca, it's not far at all. Many more choices there, as I'm sure you're aware. Marc Forgione, Locanda Verde, among others.

Sorry to hijack this thread... but am looking for something very similar, though must be close walking distance to Thompson/Bleecker. Any ideas welcome.

Drinks with a colleague Financial District?

The Dead Rabbit is your place. A true cocktail bar. It's crowded downstairs and there are civilized tables upstairs. Decent pub menu. http://www.deadrabbitnyc.com/

Best Chinese Restaurant in Chinatown

I second this recommendation. The scallion pancake and the dumplings are delicious. The bakery a few doors down (Mei Li Wah) sells fantastic steamed barbeque pork buns.

West Village with in-laws and 2 kids....need dinner help!

Know you asked for WV, but since Locanda Verde is in Tribeca I would say that most restaurants in Tribeca are kid-friendly (so many in the neighborhood). The ROC and the Odeon especially come to mind. Both lively and nice food.

Appetizers & Drinks near the National Press Club

Hello... Not from the area but we have an upcoming family weekend in DC. There is a larger dinner event at the Press Club on Saturday night but a smaller group of us (8 adults, 3 children) would like to gather for a quick toast and some appetizers just prior to dinner. A view and child-friendly would be great, if possible. Casual is fine but would like to be able to reserve a space ahead of time. Where would be a nice place to do this, within walking distance? Many thanks for your ideas.

Venice restaurant gift card

I would like to get a gift card for some friends who just got married and just bought a house in Venice. I don't live in the area so could use some recommendations for a place with fantastic food, no real cuisine restrictions. Ideal ambiance would be intimate, friendly, casual, possibly romantic but doesn't have to be. Thanks!

40th bday party rec - private dining room

Agree on DBGB, just went to a private party there. I would also throw Alta on the list. Both are rooms off/through the kitchen which adds to unique-ness, I think.

Need recs in Chelsea or surrounding areas for tonight

Looking for dinner recos for tonight. We will be meeting friends whoa re driving in through the snow, they are staying near 7th Ave/ 20th St. We can take subway but trying to make it walkable for them. They are foodies from California, they love interesting cuisine, relaxed atmosphere and famous chefs but don't want to spend too much and definitely not a formal atmosphere. Maybe spend $125/couple. Also trying to avoid Italian, as one person is on a very low-carb diet plan. I thought maybe Craftbar or Crispo but nothing seems quite right...

ATHENS

Tell me more -- am going to be in Athens for 2 nights, 1 day on the tail end of my upcoming trip (Istanbul, Santorini, Athens). Also curious which neighborhoods of Athens you found best for lively and delicious dining options?

Buddy's in Annapolis?

Well, we ended up doing Buddy's anyway because we were downtown and the decision wasn't entirely mine. It was my first blue crab experience and I did like the presentation, atmosphere and was fine with the crabs themselves. But, the following day we went to the Crab Claw in St. Michaels -- those were markedly better! So, my Buddy's experience wasn't bad because I had nothing to compare it with at the time. I do love the crab experience! Thanks, everyone, for your input. Will definitely do Cantlers next time I am in area.

Buddy's in Annapolis?

Doing a one-night trip to Annapolis and we were recommended Buddy's for a casual place for crabs. Anyone have thoughts on that or other suggestions in downtown area? Thanks.

Wednesday wine specials

Anyone know of restaurants with Wednesday wine specials (half priced bottle night, etc)? I know a couple good places with Monday and Tuesday specials -- but how about Wednesday? Thinking a wine bar, Italian, tapas, sharing plates etc... thanks in advance!
