Wink v. Parkside
Thank you so much for this info! After sharing this with my husband, we have decided to go with Parkside.
Txgrl99, just out of curiousity, what are your other 3 favorite restaurants?
Wink v. Parkside
My husband and I are coming down to Austin from Dallas for one night. We want something unique to Austin and great food. We were trying to decide between Wink and Parkside.
Which one do you prefer and why?
I have done alot of research on this board and have looked at other restaurants but these two interested us the most. Having said that, I'm definitely open to other suggestions!
Thanks in advance for your help! Can't wait to visit Austin again!
First Time to Visit Boston
Thanks for all of the suggestions below. I have the majority of our meals planned except for Friday night. We are looking for a fun, casual place to have happy hour, preferably with a patio. We would like to have dinner somewhere causal with great seafood or pizza. We would prefer patios, especially if they are by water! I wont rule out any "can't miss" places though. Thanks in advance!!!
First Time to Visit Boston
Caffe Vittoria looks wonderful! I will add that to our list. If you had to choose between Mamma Maria or Prezza, which would you choose?
First Time to Visit Boston
Perfect! Thanks Joanne! I would like to steer clear of touristy places so that is good to know.
First Time to Visit Boston
Hey everyone, my husband and I will be visiting Boston from Dallas in September.
I have read through some of the posts as to what restaurants not to miss
and here is what I have gathered so far. Please let me know if one is better than the other, or what I am missing. I would love some more suggestions for unique bars to get pre/post dinner drinks.
Neptune Oyster
Mamma Maria
Prezza
Mike's Pastry
Toro
Dante
Craigie on Main
Thought I should mention we are staying at the Back Bay Hotel.
Is there a place to have brunch on a Sunday? In Dallas, some restaurants have mimosa specials on Sundays and didnt know if that was done in Boston or not. If not, no big deal, would still love to hear your ideas!
Thank you so much!!
dallas ft worth: feed me for 5 days please
I would definitely stop by Love Shack in Fort Worth. Its Tim Love's take on a burger and beer joint and he does it incredibly well. The burgers are fantastic and the beer is cold. There is no indoor seating so in the middle of July, might be a litlte hot, but they do have fans and misters. Sit upstairs and look out over the Stockyards...great people watching!

Road Trip-Need BBQ Recs
Seems that they are closed on Sunday. We will definitely keep Lee's in mind if we head back. Thanks!
Road Trip-Need BBQ Recs
Thanks for the recs. I was afraid the majority of places would be closed. We will probably be headed back that way next Friday, so I will definitely look up the BeeHive. I am intrigued just by the name!
Road Trip-Need BBQ Recs
I am headed west to a small town called Olney this weekend from Dallas. We will be taking 114 to get there. Does anyone know any good bbq spots along the way? Even if its a little out of the way, that is fine! We will be going on Sunday so I am aware some places might be closed.
Rehearsal dinner recs
Thanks for the info austinfood. I am not a fan of bad barbecue! Do you know any other BOYB venues in the area?
Rehearsal dinner recs
We have not tried that one yet. Thats a great idea. Is that one BYOB as well?
Rehearsal dinner recs
We are from out of town and getting married in Austin. Looking for rehearsal dinner venues. We are not that picky so any venue outside or inside would work. Traveling would not be a problem either. There will be about 60 people attending. I know Salt Lick is already booked for our date. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Restaurant/Bar suggestions for wedding party from Dallas.
I am getting married in Austin in May, but I live in Dallas. On Thursday night before the wedding festivities start, we wanted to take our wedding party and parents out to dinner. We were thinking a restaurant/bar, maybe with some darts, shuffleboard, etc. We were prefer something unique to Austin. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks in advance your help!
Sports Bar in Santa Monica?
Very true about sports bars and "good" food not going together. I should have said I prefer drinks and atmosphere over "good" food while watching football at a bar. Thanks for the suggestions!
Sports Bar in Santa Monica?
Headed to Santa Monica for the weekend from Texas and I am looking for a sports bar to watch college football. Great drinks and food would definitely be a bonus. Any suggestions would be great appreciated!
