Tequila and Coke? WT?

I tried Cuervo Black and coke and I liked it. It was a really unique drink.

and I'm not really a big fan of Tequila. Unless it's Don Julio.

Am I likely to dislike all whiskey?

I don't think anyone likes whiskey at first. But once you aquire the taste it can be a great winter drink.

Plus drinking it makes you appear sophisticated... sometimes.

Anyone else use alcohol as cough syrup?

I use scotch for a sore throat. I'll drink 1-2 glasses at night if my throat is really sore, then the next morning I'm usually fine.

First few dates...

My go to first date place is Bouche on Newbury St. It's a French place that is surprisingly cheap and has a great menu and atmosphere.

Recommendations near Harvard Square and Kendall Stations

Border Cafe has some of the best Mexican/ Cajun food in Boston in my opinion.

New restaurant on corner of Mass Ave and Comm Ave?

I live one block down from there too and from what I hear there are still no plans for any new restaraunts. Didn't the "Space for Lease" sign go back up?

They have to put a restaraunt in there at some point. They still have a bar, outdoor seating, and dessert case. It's just too nice a place for any other type of shop.

Foodie itinerary for Copley Square- what do you think?

Typhoon has awesome moderately priced sushi and would be great for lunch or dinner. Cool atmosphere too. Way better than the overpriced Haru that I'm sure someone will recommend.

Cheesecake Factory..I am being forced to go

Dont get the fish tacos.

Bland, messy, and overpriced if I recall correctly.

Why does organic milk taste "richer" than non-organic milk?

on a related note... Why does organic milk tend to have a longer shelf life than regular milk? I used to work in a supermarket and I noticed this all the time. Wouldn't the milk full of preservatives last longer?

Unique Pizza Toppings

No, we're just smarter and more creative than the rest of the country.

I thought this was common knowledge.

Unique Pizza Toppings

I love squid. This may end up in my oven next.

How To Make a Proper Black and Tan

Wow... just wow.

Looks like I have my work cut out for me. Guess I'll start at the top and work my way down.

Beer Hangovers

The worst beer related hangover I ever had came at the hands of Rolling Rock. It was back in college before I knew any better.

More recently me and some friends were putting down a few pitchers of Stella Artouis and that gave me one hell of a hangover.

Unique Pizza Toppings

I feel like this topic has probably been done to death but at the same time I really don't care and I'd rather get input from the Boston portion of the community anyway.

I'm obsessed with these new wheat flatbread pizza crusts I found recently. Of course the name escapes me right now, they're like a healthier version of Boboli pizza crusts you see everywhere.

I'm really into weird and different pizza toppings and I was wondering if anyone had any cool ideas? These aren't very unique, but these are the pizzas I've made thus far:

- Chorizo & Pineapple
- Buffalo Chicken
- Thai Style Shrimp

Any other ideas would be great! The weirder the better. Dessert pizzas are also welcome.

Ketchup on Hot Dogs

You can put ketchup on anything especially hot dogs! I put it in my coffee.

Your favorite ready made pasta sauce?

Anything variety of Classico pasta sauce.

last dinner...what would it be?

Medium rare roast beef with horseradish, mashed potatoes, and green bean casserole.

With a black & tan.

Favorite Fall Dishes...

Pumpkin Pie and vanilla ice cream.

Apple crisp is a close second.

Hot sauce + food pairings

Not a hot sauce... but the other day I had a bagel with jalapeno cream cheese. The combination of the jalapeno and iced coffee is really unique and in my opinion delicious.

Really Crappy Unhealthy Disgusting Toe-curling Junkfood!

Chex Mix, Cheezit Party Mix, and kind of snack party and I'm there.

I could also eat a garbage bag full of movie theater popcorn if no one tried to stop me.

Portuguese Linguica vs Spanish Chorizo

My grandmother is Portuguese so I've grown up on linguica. We've always had two varieties: Hot and Sweet.

Now, if I'm not mistaken, the HOT linguica was actually chorizo and the SWEET was linguica.

Where to eat near Symphony Hall

Conor Larkins is a cool little bar/restaurant with nice American food. Burgers, sandwhiches and the like. I was surprised at how good it was. Really close to Symphony.

329 Huntington Ave
Boston, MA 02115

Creative Hot Dogs

Big Kahuna Dog:

Chopped pineapple and teriyaki sauce.

Best Boston Burger

I really want to try 5 Guys, but I live in Back Bay with no car.

I'll have to find someone with a car to help me out. Perhaps I can bribe them with a burger.

Best Boston Burger

I heard that Flat Patties is the closest thing to an In and Out Burger you'll find in MA.

Is that true?

Also thanks everyone! My list is growing by the second.

Good place to eat/watch debate in Back Bay or nearby?

Crossroads Irish Pub at the corner of Beacon and Mass Ave. If you go for no other reason, the commentary from the Irish bartenders is priceless!~

They're hilarious.

Market Basket heebie-jeebies

I used to get dragged to the Market Basket in Westford MA as a kid. I feel like the floors were ALWAYS covered in sand and dirt.

I remember never trusting their deli, even as a kid.

Best Boston Burger

I've decided to go on a personal quest to find the best burger in the city of Boston. I know all about the best of Boston and which places have the "Best Burgers"... I'm more curious about the hidden gems.

I already know about Bartleys in Cambridge. Does anyone have any places I should add to my list? I'll take whatever I get from this forum and go from there. I want to have an encyclopedic knowledge of this cities burgers by the time I'm done.

Best clam chowder in Boston?

If you're looking for take out Chower, I highly recommend the Chowa House in the Prudential food court.

I got a cup in a bread bowl the other day and it's definately some of the best chowder I've ever had. I don't know about the best...

Saturday Brunch, what's good?

The Other Side Cafe in Back Bay has a surprisingly good breakfast. I love the bar, but I'm not a huge fan of the food. It's big on vegan food.

The breakfast selection was awesome though! They have great morning cocktails, an extensive menu, and even a dish that contains all 4 major food groups (Sugar, coffee, Meat, & Booze). Sadly I can't remember what it is called.

Just go there. http://foodfightblog.blogspot.com/2008/09/break-on-through.html
