Bubble tea or Pearl tea

Yes, I love the Rose Tea Cafe. They have a nice variety and pretty good food (not my favorite Thia, but it's still delicious.. great braised chicken over rice and dumplings). Where else can you get dinner for 2 for $20?? Excellent!! :-)

PS- I found it kinda funny when my boyfriend and I went to eat there. We ordered our food and they brought over silverware. I looked to the left where a group of Asian boys were eating, and they were all brought chop stix. I wasn't offended, because when the boys were brought their food they ended up asked for silverware anyways. Haha!

Red Room 2 - New Chef

This past weekend I went to have drinks and apps at R2, the new Red Room addition. The interior was nice, but the service and food were TERRIBLE. Everyone agreed the food had absolutely no taste, and they were out of 6/10 items. Our server was not attentive whatsoever, and eventually we were passed on to another server without any explanation (who was actually really nice, so we were somewhat thankful). We weren't rude in any way, so I'm not sure what the problem was. After eating our terrible meals we were still hungry and when I tried to order more food they informed me that the kitchen was closed. Thanks for the warning!! So my friend ended up going across the street to Pizza Visuvio and getting some pizza slices for us to share. The pizza was the best thing we ate that night.

I was extremely disappointed because I ate at the original Red Room about 6 months ago and the food was incredible. I don't know what happened?!?

So I ate there and it was everything I had hoped for. It is a bit pricey, but not too bad if you compare it to other places. We ordered a bottle of wine, appetizer, 3 entrees and dessert and it was about $150. The panna cotta dessert was excellent (and I NEVER get sweets). The pot stickers were just average, the Black Cod was excellent, but I like it better at Umi, and one of my friends said the duck salad was amazing. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for some refreshing Chinese food (not the American Chinese food we've grown accustomed to).

New Thai Pittsburgh

My absolute favorite Thai restuarant is "Thai Cusine" in Bloomfield. Is it better than this one?

3day trip to pittsburgh-where should i eat,stay?

I wouldn't recommend staying the Suburbs, it wouldn't give you the full "Pittsburgh" effect, especially if you're looking for historic tours. I agree with the other reply, it would definitely help if you first chose where to stay, then we could make appropriate recommendations.

Grad student happy hour, Pittsburgh, early Nov -- help!

Hello! For a great bar I would try "Firehouse Lounge," who are always very accomodating with large crowds, especially for happy hour. (Ask for Alana, she does the PR and organizing.) They have a large selection of beers, excellent wine list, and amazing food (lots of tapas great for sharing). They are located in the Strip District, which may be a bit too far for a walk, but is definitely a short drive. The nice thing is that they have free parking in their lot.

For a place (although a bit smaller and not a very interesting wine list) would be "Sharp Edge" in Bloomfield. This would not be walking distance, but it definitely has a GREAT list of Belgian beers. The food doesn't necessarily go beyond the "chicken wing" either.

A couple of my friends went to eat there a few days ago and said it was awesome. They are true restaurant snobs (in a good way) so I always trust their judgment.

My friends and I ate at the restaurant in the Wynn when we stayed there in Vegas and it was absolutely AMAZING. I usually don't like Chinese food because I feel like I'm eating a bowl of sodium, and then I'm hungry in an hour. So I'm glad there is finally a good Chinese restaurant here in Pittsburgh.

My BF and I are going to eat here tomorrow, so I'll update with reviews. PS- I saw above someone ordered the Black Cod. I always order it at Umi (which is also spectacular) so I may just have to get that!
