Any Kid-Friendly Restaurant around Chino Hills, CA? Although I'm a resident of the SGV area... I have zero knowledge of the Chino Hills area. Reason being is my cousin will be flying from New York with her kids (I guess... a 12 and a 15 yr old) so I'll be their chauffeur in the next two days - I have just half a day with them and I've actually never met the kids. In addition, they're staying with her brother who has a 7 yr old so he'd be tagging along with us. I'm hoping someone can enlighten me of any good eats in the Chino Hills area. We'll be spending in the Arcadia/El Monte area during the daytime and I'm familier with that territory... yet to take them home along the way to Chino Hills... what's a good, kid-friendly eat out on a Friday night? Could be restaurant style or fast-food as I don't know how picky the kids are. I think we'll be in the area of the Chino Spectrum Marketplace and Crossroad Marketplace at Chino Hills. Any suggestions? Pour it in! Thanks in advance! |

Really depends if you can find "goods" to shop at in Costco. I always think about my drive to Costco (8 miles) - is it worth the gas money? How much food do I need? Can I shop only at Costco or do I have to go to other stores to complete my shopping list? For me, I do just fine with 80% of my grocery/general shopping only at Costco I've been a Costco member since the early 90's and feed a party of 4 - my wife and kids. I do my shopping once a week or every other week since the quantity are in bulk. Their service are fantastic. It's already been said, if you're unhappy with being a member, it's 100% refundable. I'm a die-hard geek, which, I purchase most of my electronics from Costco. Now, I'm not sure if all Costco are the same, but generally they'll add 2 years on top of the manufacturer warranty. Some electronics even have a longer return policy (90 days) than other electronic stores like Bestbuy for instance. Costco is my first-stop to anything from getting my tires done to getting my gas and purchasing DVD movies. One of my co-worker's wife works for Disney and she said they have a contract with Disney - it's why Costco is able to sell DVDs at a lower cost than any other DVD sellers. I'm a carnivore, therefore I buy steaks a lot. As a matter of fact, I just stopped by this afternoon to fill up gas for my car, lunch - polish dog and a drink for less than $2, and my favorite snack - Babybel cheese! Try it! Costco Connection: |

ISO: American Steak house / set menu in the SGV area? Recently went to Taiwan for a trip. On my last night, the host family took me to Wang Steak as a farewell. The restaurant only serves set menu per person for NT 1,200, or somewhere around $37 USD. I'm hoping to for insight on finding a restaurant that is similar to Wang Steak.. For a beter idea, here's the English menu: http://www.wangsteak.com.tw/menu_eng_... Bread The family of 4 will be coming for a visit. Are there any American style steak house similar to it? I'm just trying to avoid Chinese style as it doesn't really satisfy my taste bud. Something like Ruth's Chris, Edwards Steakhouse, Charley Brown...etc. Money is no issue... well.. as long as it's not $200 per person or something like that. I'm within the San Gabriel Valley... Pasadena... Los Angeles... Arcadia... Alhambra... Much appreciated! Thanks in advance!! |

Brussel: Does Tai Hon Restaurant on rue des Eperonniers still exist? I know this is beyond chow reviews but it's a try. I'm from the USA, so I'm hoping to find someone kind enough to let me know if this particular restaurant still exist. My father has a childhood friend who came to live and work in the Brussel Square. This friend opened a restaurant (see below for address) for 20+ years. Since my father's last contact with the friend about two years ago, the telephone and fax has been disconnected. Please help us find this long lost friend/see if this restaurant of his still exist, maybe they got new telephone number? If the business still exist, please let me know if it has a telephone number or some sort of info that can be forwarded to me. if it does not exist, what is it now? Address: Tai Hon Restaurant Tel 02/514.50.58 You'll be helping someone from the other side of the world. Thanks so much!!! Appreciated!!! |

ISO family-style KID-FRIENDLY restaurant in SGV My niece is turning 4 on Thursday and we'd like to take her out for a family-style kid-friendly restaurant. We also have family members that are on a diet so there's gotta be some sort of good selections. There's a party of ten. We're into American, Italian, and Japanese cuisine. The kid will eat things like cheeseburger, grilled cheese sandwich, udon (Japanese noodle), other kiddy stuff. Got any suggestions in the San Gabriel Valley? Somewhere in the area of: Monterey Park, Alhambra, San Gabriel, Temple City, Arcadia, Pasadena is a consideration. Buffet might be considered, but considering there's old people that don't eat much - and not cheap on a week-night We've outruled Denny's - too much of that. But any considerations would be nice. Any suggestions out there? Thanks in advance. |

Corner Cottage in Burbank, CA gets my vote. First time I had it - Sausage, egg, cheese, potatoes (even when I ordered no potatoes) - it was the best breakfast burrito I've ever had in my entire life. Should go for it! |

Looking for good chow in Gilroy/Morgan Hill My family and I will be traveling from Los Angeles to Morgan Hill (south of San Jose) for the Garlic Festival in Gilroy. We've never driven up north so we'd like to know what are some places to eat possibly non restaurant chain. Privately own or places that you won't find anywhere else. We're into American, Italian, and Japanese cuisine. Money is no object. Thanks in advance. |
