toaster or toaster oven??

The range oven size is a lot bigger than the Breville. I was talking about the size of the oven not the space it takes up.

toaster or toaster oven??

I do but I rarely use it. What is your point?

toaster or toaster oven??

I love my Breville but not so much for bread toast (bagels toast great). I don't have the counter space for both a toaster and a toaster oven.

Breville is so much less space to heat vs. the oven, I've cooked a whole chicken, cookies, bread, etc. Everything turns out great. I can suffer the bread toast with all the other positives.

Gluten Free freezer recipes

Hi All!

My cousin just lost his wife and we would like to prepare some freezer food for him. He has celiac disease so it's important that all ingredients are gluten free.

Thanks!

healthiest meal you can think of (that you still want to eat)

My latest thing is vietnamese summer rolls with a couple of shrimp (sliced in half) and a bunch of vegetables and rice noodles wrapped up in rice paper. I serve with peanut sauce.

Costco Eat Smart Sweet Kale salad mix

Found some today at the Gaithersburg Maryland Costco, grilled up some rare tuna and mixed it with this salad (used very little of the provided dressing)... it's good and good for you!

Soft Shell Clams in Rehoboth/Lewes Delaware area?

Matt's Fish Camp just south of the Indian River Inlet bridge has fried whole-belly clams.

Is it still blue crab season? OR What are all the crab house posts 10 years old?

I haven't been yet but I've heard May's in Frederick is good.

I usually pick up my crabs from the Seafood in the buff truck on 355 in Germantown. They've been consistently good.

Ocean City- 40th Anniversary dinner

In the north part of OC/Fenwick are some nice places with views.... I would suggest:

1/ Catch 54 in Fenwick. Great food, beautiful view, more fine dining.
2/ Lobster Shanty, on Rt. 54 in Fenwick. Unhappy the first visit when they had just opened but went last night and had a very nice dinner. They have more of a variety in their menu, entrees as well as burgers, salads, etc. Beautiful view of the wetlands.

Have a nice visit!!

Local food gifts for DC clients

I'm looking for locally made goodies for my client gifts this year instead of the usual Harry and Davids/Mrs. Fields. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Aroma, GA Ave. in Olney

Try a lemonade or limeade... it is prepared by crushing the citrus adding sugar syrup and adding soda water, it is fantastic! We had a wonderful lunch.

Weddings in Baltimore Area

Unique, a friend had the ceremony and reception at the Visionary Arts Museum in Federal HIll. Not sure they have in-house catering but it is "unique".

Great saltenas in Olney Maryland

We had all three this morning and the beef was the best, messy and yummy (messy cause I'm a salteña novice and needed instruction:), but the chicken was very tasty too and a bit drier inside.

The best description of these jems.... hand-held, sweet and savory pot pies.

Great saltenas in Olney Maryland

El Antojito (same shopping center as Mannequin Pis) has delicious salteñas. According to my sister who spent many years in Bolivia, these were the best she's had in the DC area. Beef, chicken and chicken & beef varieties.

YUM!

Bethesda Crab House OR Dancing Crab

I have Maryland natives from NYC coming in for crabs next weekend. Can anyone recommend either of these places? Dancing Crab is closest to their locations.

Thanks!!!

Steamed Crabs in Ocean City, Maryland

I got carry out crabs from the Crab Bag on 130th street... they have a nice deck out back that some neighbors liked. The crabs were very good.

Gaithersburg area fish markets

Thanks all!

I usually go to Camron's for lobster (and just got some great clams, lobster and shrimp from them)... Whole Foods is a good option for salmon. I like visiting local stores rather than chains... but I may do WF. it's a lot closer than Potomac.

Thanks again... robdob

Is Old Mill Crab House in Delmar, DE the best?

there used to be an old mill in bethany, burnt down a couple of years ago. it was my favorite place for crabs, the delmar site is also great but quite a hike. i think worth the trip if you're into a long night of eating crabs. i'm in ocean city quite a bit and have liked the crabs at the crab bag on (i think, 130th street, used to be key west crab bag). i've only gotten carry out crabs that were really good, neighboors went to their all you can eat and liked it very much.
