source for great sausage on the North Shore?

Bianci's in Revere has the best sausages around!

Seeking Boston's BEST Brownie Sundae.

My wife and I are seeking out Boston's BEST Brownie Sundae. Any suggestions and descriptions of the sundae are greatly appreciated. We're looking for warm, freshly baked brownies (not pre-baked, wrapped brownies with ice cream on top). Thanks for your help!

South End - recommendations for gift certificates

The Beehive is a great hip restaurant in the South End. Sibling Rivalry is also very good, but can be a bit pricey, but with the gift card, they should be able to afford it. Picco is an upscale pizza place, nothing special in my humble opinion. Stephi's on Tremont or Tremont 647 are other good South End options.

Two College Students in Boston for 4 days

If you're in town for a weekend, stop down to the North End for one of the Italian festivals...they usually have tons of street vendors and live entertainment. Food will be cheaper than going to a restaurant.

Boston Kitchen Nightmares... And the nominees are.....

I nominate Frank's Steakhouse. Horrid restaurant!

Takeout Italian/pizza in North End or near Harbor Towers

In the North End, you can go to the Pizzeria Regina - make sure to order the pizza crispy. Another option is Ducali, although I am not sure if they do take out.

Heading to The Beehive on Friday and looking for recommendations

Hey everyone -

I am heading to The Beehive this weekend and am hoping to get recommendations on what to order. Everything looks really appetizing on the menu and we can't make up our mind on what we will order. Anybody have any favorites that they recommend or any meals to avoid at all costs?

Chocolate Cake in Boston

Second Fratelli's. Chocolate cake with chocolate truffle fudge and french buttercream frosting is superb. Have to order it a few days in advance I think, but well worth it if you can plan.

Best Burger and Fries combination in the Back Bay

My favorites in the Back Bay are Abe & Louie's and the Bristol Lounge at the Four Seasons. If you go to the Bristol Lounge, see if they have peanut butter ice cream for dessert. Tastes like ice cold peanut peanut butter ice cream ever!

It's my birthday and I'll eat if I want to...give me your best reccys!

If you decide on Top of the Hub, plan on getting the cookie platter for dessert. Some of the best cookies ever--warm, fresh from the oven, and a view to die for.

Not in Milton, but a short drive down to Marina Bay in Quincy, we have been enjoying the new Port 305 recently. We have found it to be our new favorite restaurant locally. We have been for both lunch and dinner. The sandwiches are good, flat bread pizzas (in particular the sausage and roasted pepper flat bread) are excellent. The hummus appetizer platter is spectacular as is the lobster mac & cheese. My favorite meal was a special--chicken pot pie. A close second in preference only to Harrows.

BEST brunch in Boston?

Had a great brunch about six months back (prix fix) at Top of the Hub. Great food and views for an out of towner.

Looking for a great restaurant for a small company holiday dinner - probably btwn 15-20 people

What's your budget?

Engagement party ideas?

I went to a party at the Rustic Kitchen in Boston this weekend and the food was fantastic. The service however was a different situation. If you could work with the management to make sure that they appropriately staff your party (the party had the same number of attendees as yours) with one waiter and a bartender that floated between the main restaurant bar and the private room bar. If you go this route, the Italian Egg Rolls appetizers were amazing!

Need help...,most romantic restaurant in the Boston area

Getting married in about a month and would like to go with my fiance to the most romantic dinner possible before the wedding. Once "last date" before we tie the knot. Can you recommend some of the most romantic restaurants in Boston?

Thanks for your help!

Upscale Brunch Options

Hi everyone -

I am trying to help a friend out and am turning to my fellow CHers for some assistance. Each year, my friend and all of her cousins get together for an upscale brunch during the holiday season. In years past they have dined at the Four Seasons, the Marriott Long Wharf, and the Langham Hotel. Any suggestions on where they may be able to go this year for a good upscale brunch? They typically pay between $75-$100 for these per person I think.

Thanks for your help!

Lunch Near Wrentham outlets?

Luciano's on Rt. 1 in Wrenthem is a very good Italian restaurant.

Need good Saturday afternoon North End recommendation

Not too many places with a patio in the North End - Caffe Grafitti on Cross St, Fiore's on Hanover Street, Mother Anna's on the corner of Cross and Hanover Streets.

Birthday cake needed for 40+ people

We just had a birthday cake two weeks ago for 40 people from Fratelli's Bakery in Quincy. AMAZING! The cake was extraordinarily fresh. We are also getting our wedding cake from here. We had the chocolate cake with chocolate truffle fudge filling and it was TO DIE FOR! My mouth is watering just thinking about it. The leftover cake from the birthday party was left in the box - without being wrapped for more than a week - and it still tasted like we had just purchased it. Price wasn't bad either - I think it was $70 or so - it was a half sheet that they had done tinkerbell on - it was a kids party, but for what it was, the price was quite reasonable.

Avoid Konditor Meister - great presentation, horrible flavor. Montillio's served us stale cake on our wedding tasting - horrid!

North Shore Italian - Need Suggestions

I don't travel to that area often, but the closest thing I know to you that is really good and worth the drive (we come from the South Shore) is Theresa's Italian Eatery in Middleton. The veal and eggplant parm combo is delicious with the homemade fusili. Wish I could jump in the car right now just thinking about it.

Regina's Thatcher St North End?

The Regina is great - love a nice salami pizza - small, well done not burnt. They also have other locations where the pizza is just as good - particularly in Medford at Wellington Circle. They have a much larger space and parking. And no line half way down the street, although you may have to wait for a seat if you hit it at a peak time. They're also opening a new location at the old Sports Depot in Allston. The best pizza in Boston! Well worth going again.

Favorite Dish at Vinoteca di Monica

My two favorite dishes are the Capellini ai Calamaretti (capellini pasta in a red sauce with baby calamari) and Linguine allo Scoglio (shellfish and seafood with pasta in either red or white sauce - I prefer the red sauce). Went two times recently and had these. Amazing flavors. I think if I had to pick between the two, it would be the capellini ai calamaretti. YUM! Makes me want to head into the North End now!

The Best Hot Dogs?

I saw this post - it addressed a lot of out of the area places - New York, Chicago, Michigan, etc. This post is intended to be Boston specific and the toppings, which wasn't mentioned.

The Best Hot Dogs?

After waking up too early for a Saturday morning, I am watching Hot Dog Paradise on the Travel Channel and it got me thinking. What is the best hot dog in Boston? For hot dogs I tend to go to Spike's (to relive my college memories in Providence) or Windy City Eats (to help my fiance relive her childhood in Chicago). Who has the best hot dog and what are your toppings?

Dinner in North End

Monica's is wonderful.

Need to find a nice upscale venue for a rehersal dinner for 50

Brasserie Jo has a nice side room for functions. A few other options would be Top of the Hub, Abe & Louie's, and Mistral.

Make the trek to Dedham. You won't be disappointed.

Boston Chowhounder Visiting the Hilton St. Louis Frontenac

Thanks everyone for the recommendations - we didn't make it out of the area at all. We went to the Canyon Cafe and Trattoria Branica. Both were good picks. Thanks for your help! If you ever need recommendations about Boston, visit my profile and I'll be sure to recommend you some good places.

Another option that is around your price range (some entrees a little below and some a little bit more) than what you're looking to spend is Eastern Standard.

Villa Rosa?

It probably won't be the first time that Bananie has ever told mom a little white lie.
