American Craft Beer Fest -- what are you looking forward to?
Lawsons is going to have the longest lines all day, followed by Maine Beer Co. I cant wait to try all the Duck Rabbit , CBC, and Clown shoes beers. For the big boys Sierra Nevada and Brooklyn bring some fun stuff and on a smaller scale Troegs and Ithaca may also. For the price you cant beat the selection but nothing compares to the extreme beer fest for American rarities.
2 months in Boston-which eateries are a must?
I'm going to keep it local to the south shore:
Kam man plaza- asian grocery store in a strip mall with smaller outlets. The grocery store is a field trip within itself, grab a banh mi from the restaurant in the same strip mall
Alumni pizza- also in quincy, famous for the south shore bar pizza not so famous for its atmosphere
Genarros- basic italian done well and cant be beat for value.
Punjab cafe- best indian around, love the naan and tikka masalla, they have a weekend buffet that is one of the best deals around.
Fat Cat- not sure how to classify this, little short of the gastropub. Stay away on the weekends unless you want a long wait, search the boards for the glowing reviews.
Union Brewhouse- located in weymouth, one of the few local places with a good craft beer tap list, food is more than acceptable, but wouldnt go here just for the food, its the beer that keeps people coming back. They also have the bar pizza but its not on par w/ the alumnis, lynwoods, and cape cod cafe.
Someone posted about roast beef, you dont need to go to the north shore hit, Liberty Bell im South Boston, I get mine with sauce and cheese.

Thomas English Muffins--is it me...?
They do have a slight sour taste. I now buy the english muffins at Whole Foods as they are about 1/2 the price they now charge for Thomas' at Stop and Shop, which is $3.99 for 6 muffins.
Best fries around?
One thing Boston Beer Works does right is a french fry.

$4.19 for a loaf of bread at the grocery store
Arnold Whole Wheat recently went to $4.19 here (suburbs of boston). Going to have to stock up when or if it goes 2 for $5 ever again.
Liberty Bell South Boston ( Not a best roast beef thread)
Probably just an off night. I'm sure your correct on the sysco provided apps. I get a roast beef sandwich from them at least bi-weekly and have seen no deviation in the quality of the sandwich, big beef , sauce and cheese , plain bun.
Tap beer selection in the South End with good food
I would agree with Coda. I know you said you didn't want Picco but they are pouring some great beers right now.

August Openings and Closings
They are open now, there was a sign out front yesterday advertising lobster prices by the lb.
The Fours in Quincy
I don't know the salad selection at the Fat Cat but the Four's has very good salads and a good cup of chowder.

Any Whole Foods better?
If ever in Portland, Me the whole foods right off of 295 is the best I've ever visited. The beer and wine selection trump the Dedham store. Also, the butcher shop has an entire section dedicated to real bbq and they let you sample it all. There is also a hot bbq bar to make hot plates to go. I've tried multiple ribs, ham hocks, in house bacon, and a chocolate stout chili and have been happy with everything I've tried.
Where to buy Mexican Coke in Massachusetts
Fresh Market in Hingham has it in the refrigerated section.
Any recent Stoddard's experiences?
From the posts over at beeradvocate it seems every agrees that the beer prices overall are grossly inflated. I could see $10 for a Russian River IPA which is rare in this part of the country, but from what I've read the offerings for the casks are local, $10+ for a Shipyard beer on cask is laughable.
When the Union Brewhouse was having its cask days beers where in the $5-6 range, the beers offered were from breweries like Pizza Port, Troegs, Lagunitas, aka beers that in more demand due to rarity/quality. I can't remember paying anymore than $7 for a cask ale from the Portsmouth Brewery ,Sunset, or Beerworks. I understand the overhead is much greater for Stoddards and someone needs to pay for the big dig like schedule to rehab the place but I won't be visiting with the choices that we already have in the area.

Coffee on the Way to the Cape/Carver?
Not sure why Carver is considered the cape but Mary Lou's is a coffee chain along the south shore with some decent ice coffee, not so much on the baked goods.
Micro Brews
If your looking for bottles, Bauer on Newbury St. seems to have a good relationship with them, I've seen them host multiple tastings for this brewer.

Has Anyone Tried Kelly's Landing in Weymouth on 3A?
Probably the best clam chowder on the south shore and a great fish and chips. Wouldn't consider it a destination spot but I'm a local and having been going here since I can remember.
Sam Adams Utopia?
If someone wants to try this beer Sam has brought this to the Extreme Beer Fest for the last couple of years. For $45 bucks you can have all you want along with a 100+ good beers.
New WF in Dedham
According to the news it is 70% bigger than any WF in the northeast. It must be huge.
What is your go-to 6 pack to take to a get together....
Left Hand is and has been available for years now. I remember buying Left Hand Milk Stout about 5 years ago at Yankee in Attleboro. Nowadays its available at most decent beer stores.
Major League Beer
For those unhappy about those craft beer prices, come to Fenway Park and enjoy our $7.50 Bud Light cans poured into plastic cups.
Makin' Ribs; Need a Finger-Lickin'-Good Sauce Recipe!
I made this Tyler Florence BBQ sauce and it received a lot of praise.

Celia's in Quincy Closes -- Stadium Sports Bar proposing new restaurant
The Fours has good food, parking, decent amount of space, and a good reputation. I don't think they have much too worry about after the initial buzz.
As for the Stadium in South Boston, they have a great space and a neighborhood of 20-30 somethings to support them and the food at the Stadium seems to come from the menu of Chef Sysco.
Large groups, good beer, tasty food in downtown Boston?
Check out the Sunset Grill, it has a very large beer selection, offers cheap food, and can sit large groups. I usually order from the most recently tapped list on the back of the menu. I've never had a bad experience here but others will have their opinions.
South Shore Butcher
I don't buy meat there as the cuts are rather poor, very thin for some reason. Things I do buy there are pork (ribs, shoulders), chicken (boneless, wings), haddock, and veggies. Roxie's prices are very competitive and the atmosphere reflects this, there are no frills there.

South Shore Butcher
The only thing I can add to the above post is Whole Foods, although you'll probably pay 2x the price if Costco.I've been very happy with Previties in both locations. There is also a meat market in the Hingham Fruit Center, but I've never purchased meat there.
Farmers Markets ect. - week of May 18th
There will be a farmer's market in Weymouth at the town hall starting on Sat June 27.

Help me find a summer beer
I assume your from California looking at your beer list, have you tried any of the Lagunitas beers? Hop Stoopid seems like it might meet your demands. I find it to be hoppy but very floral and light at the same time. The prices are great in Mass. so I can only imagine they are giving the stuff away in Ca.
Trader Joe's flour
I am 99% certain it is not repackaged KA Flour. I am on the mailing list and TJ's was not happy how commercially available KA had become. More here:

Little Q Hotpot news
Maybe they are speaking of the area of North Quincy with State Street. We can only hope.
