my first "foodie" meal happened at a Chinese restaurant in Washington D.C. while visiting my aunt when I was 7 years old. I can still remember the sweet and sour shrimp - it was so different than the Southern regional cuisine I ate at home
My current drink of choice:
Virginia wine - current - I am loving some Viognier lately
I really wish I could:
teach the world to sing, in perfect harmony
My "Go-to" dinner party dish:
Chesapeake Bay free-form crab cakes - sans filler, light on seasoning (my own blend) and heavy on crab
My favorite comfort food:
any classic Southern dish (I was raised in Atlanta by my grandmother) - current - I have a huge jones right now for fried chicken
My top 5 favorite restaurants:
Any restaurant that has good food prepared honestly with fair prices and offers a comfortable atmosphere with great service - is that really too much to ask?
My most tattered cookbooks:
blatant plug - my latest cookbook - "Popcorn" from Sasquatch Books publishing
