Lunch en route back to Jerusalem from Masada and the dead sea?

My husband and I will be touring Masada and the surrounding areas with a car and guide in early June. The guide mentioned that most restaurants around Masada were ordinary, but I thought that you - a community of people who don't want to miss an opportunity to have a great meal whenever you can - may have a suggestion or two. The only idea I could glean from a previous post was Caravan in Abu Gosh. Is that a worthwhile destination?
Thank you so much!

Has anyone eaten at Bello on 56th & 9th?

I was just about to post about Bello. We had dinner there last week, and found it ordinary. But what really annoyed me was the salmon in mustard, mentioned below. I inquired if it was wild salmon, because I don't enjoy the fatty, bland taste of farmed salmon, not to mention the negative impact on the environment unless it is framed organically and correctly. (And the juries still out as to the last part). I was assured by the waiter that it was wild, but it was not, and it was served with boring steamed carrots and potatoes also lacking in flavor. Too many other decent neighborhood options to ever go back!

It is a Friday night dinner for ~18 adults. The age range is 30-95. However, there is no one who isn't in good health, able to climb stairs, and so forth. Thanks!

My very active father-in-law turns 95 next month. I need a moderately priced ( say $75 pp inclusive) restaurant in west 50's. Any ideas other than Trattoria del Arte? We are going to Bricco one of the nights. Thanks!

One day in Monaco

My husband and I just returned from France, and on the last night of a trip that included Marseilles and Provence, we had the best meal of our trip at La Montgolfiere Henri Geraci. This tiny restaurant is in Monaco Ville, an uphill walk or cab ride from the casino and the grand hotels, and near the palace. It is a beautifully relaxed and gracious experience, from the amuse bouche through our 43 euro three course dinner, to a glass of digestif offered at the end. Chef Henri changes his menu every month, and his wife Fabienne does an amazing job as the only server. (Anyone going in June - the slow cooked tuna was perhaps the best I have ever had, but everything, absolutely everything, was wonderful). I strongly recommend walking back down the hill after dinner - after a bend in the road you see all of Monaco lit up and, truly, beautiful.

Prime rib dinner Sunday night, but where?

Thank you! After my post I did a bit of research and booked Hawksmore. So pleased you recommend! However, I booked the one on Air Street for logistical reasons. Do you think Seven Dials location a better choice?

In Quebec City for our anniversary, looking for some resturant recommendations!

Thanks, Dominique. I decided to change reservation to Le Clocher Pencher.
Then , based on many recommendations, L'Echaude and Toast for the next two nights of our stay. I'll let you know!

What is the "Whole Foods" of Quebec City?

Thanks. Are people not very concerned about bio? Or is it found easily in local open air markets but not supermarkets? Or, perhaps, you just use far fewer pesticides, herbicides, and genetically modified seeds than we do in America, so less need for concern...

What is the "Whole Foods" of Quebec City?

I know that the only Whole Foods in Canada is in Toronto. Is there a similar type of supermarket to visit?

My husband and I are also heading to Quebec City to celebrate our anniversary, and I have made a reservation at Le. Saint-Amour! Do others share David's opinion?

Frankie & Johnny's..Which location?

The chef at 37th may be far superior. And to be fair, we were driven by close proximity to The Music Box theater and after theater hunger, not the steak. But I have had some very good seafood and vegetarian options at steakhouses - and therefore thought that the grilled sole would be fine. It arrived mushy and without the lovely crisp outer crust you get from grilling, coated in paprika but with little other seasoning, and was, frankly, devoid of any flavor at all. I was hungry enough to eat it, but couldn't eat the side of spinach I ordered. It too was absolutely flavorless - I asked for lemon but that didn't help. My husband thought it tasted frozen, I just thought it was poor quality and less than fresh.

Frankie & Johnny's..Which location?

I went to the 45th street branch last night for dinner. Not because it was a steakhouse, however, but because it was very convenient for after (7PM) theater. We arrived ~ 9:30, and it was almost empty. It deserved to be. I think thegforceny was being kind - I would rate it 5th tier, unless there is a lower one, at least at this location. Even the side dishes lacked flavor - and it is a challenge to create bad garlic mashed potatoes.

Foodie Friend in NYC Recommends Charleston Grill. Thoughts?

We just returned and McCrady's was terrific. We also went to High Cotton and swapped out Charleston Grill for Cru. All were wonderful ( although McCrady's was our favorite of the three). Thanks everyone for your help.

Foodie Friend in NYC Recommends Charleston Grill. Thoughts?

Thank you so much for your information, Sue. We try very hard to eat as locally as we possibly can: consuming only pastured chicken and eggs and supporting local farmers. "Eat Local" month sounds great to me!

Yes; although I'm thinking Littleman probably has (and thanks to you both). If anyone else out there has an opinion - please let me know!

Foodie Friend in NYC Recommends Charleston Grill. Thoughts?

My husband and I will be in Charleston next week Sunday - Wednesday. (We already have reservations at McCrady's). I trust our pal when it comes to food and don't want to pass up a great experience, but I just looked at Charleston Grill menu and it looked a bit, well, limited and serious. I would love to know if anyone has visited there recently. Thanks!

Charleston restaurant needed for Easter Sunday dinner

Although I am told that brunch is very popular on this day, my husband and I will unfortunately be arriving in the late afternoon, and this will be our first time in Charleston. We both very much love good food, with an emphasis on beautiful local and sustainable ingredients. This is a vacation, and price is unimportant. I have, of course, checked the threads and thank all who contributed for some great restaurant possibilities, but (perhaps) for later on in the week. I just don't want us to be in a restaurant known for its Easter brunch but deserted for Sunday dinner. Right now, I'm leaning towards Fig. Any thoughts about that or other suggestions would be much appreciated.

Has anyone been to Rivalda Cafe and Restaurant in Budapest?

We will be in the city in early October, and only have two nights to eat out. One of them is a special birthday dinner for my brother, and I was thinking of Costes. Someone suggested Rivalda for the other night, and I would really appreciate hearing from anyone who has been there. Thank you!
