Frankie & Johnny's..Which location?
The chef at 37th may be far superior. And to be fair, we were driven by close proximity to The Music Box theater and after theater hunger, not the steak. But I have had some very good seafood and vegetarian options at steakhouses - and therefore thought that the grilled sole would be fine. It arrived mushy and without the lovely crisp outer crust you get from grilling, coated in paprika but with little other seasoning, and was, frankly, devoid of any flavor at all. I was hungry enough to eat it, but couldn't eat the side of spinach I ordered. It too was absolutely flavorless - I asked for lemon but that didn't help. My husband thought it tasted frozen, I just thought it was poor quality and less than fresh.
Frankie & Johnny's..Which location?
I went to the 45th street branch last night for dinner. Not because it was a steakhouse, however, but because it was very convenient for after (7PM) theater. We arrived ~ 9:30, and it was almost empty. It deserved to be. I think thegforceny was being kind - I would rate it 5th tier, unless there is a lower one, at least at this location. Even the side dishes lacked flavor - and it is a challenge to create bad garlic mashed potatoes.
Foodie Friend in NYC Recommends Charleston Grill. Thoughts?
We just returned and McCrady's was terrific. We also went to High Cotton and swapped out Charleston Grill for Cru. All were wonderful ( although McCrady's was our favorite of the three). Thanks everyone for your help.
Foodie Friend in NYC Recommends Charleston Grill. Thoughts?
Thank you so much for your information, Sue. We try very hard to eat as locally as we possibly can: consuming only pastured chicken and eggs and supporting local farmers. "Eat Local" month sounds great to me!
Foodie Friend in NYC Recommends Charleston Grill. Thoughts?
Yes; although I'm thinking Littleman probably has (and thanks to you both). If anyone else out there has an opinion - please let me know!
Foodie Friend in NYC Recommends Charleston Grill. Thoughts?
My husband and I will be in Charleston next week Sunday - Wednesday. (We already have reservations at McCrady's). I trust our pal when it comes to food and don't want to pass up a great experience, but I just looked at Charleston Grill menu and it looked a bit, well, limited and serious. I would love to know if anyone has visited there recently. Thanks!
Charleston restaurant needed for Easter Sunday dinner
Although I am told that brunch is very popular on this day, my husband and I will unfortunately be arriving in the late afternoon, and this will be our first time in Charleston. We both very much love good food, with an emphasis on beautiful local and sustainable ingredients. This is a vacation, and price is unimportant. I have, of course, checked the threads and thank all who contributed for some great restaurant possibilities, but (perhaps) for later on in the week. I just don't want us to be in a restaurant known for its Easter brunch but deserted for Sunday dinner. Right now, I'm leaning towards Fig. Any thoughts about that or other suggestions would be much appreciated.
First time in Prague and would like an eastern european, roast duck with red cabbage sort of meal
We have two nights in Prague; I think it will be Lokal and V Zatisi.
Thank you so much, Sasicka, for your recommendations!

I've read about Myynec and V. Zatisi as options. Any thoughts or other recommendations? Thank you!
Has anyone been to Rivalda Cafe and Restaurant in Budapest?
We will be in the city in early October, and only have two nights to eat out. One of them is a special birthday dinner for my brother, and I was thinking of Costes. Someone suggested Rivalda for the other night, and I would really appreciate hearing from anyone who has been there. Thank you!
Help! Looking for a medium priced restaurant in the midtown west area ( 54th - 58th, 8th or 9th ave)
Thanks. I mean around $40-50 per person, with one drink.
Help! Looking for a medium priced restaurant in the midtown west area ( 54th - 58th, 8th or 9th ave)
The catch is that it has to have a table large enough for 12 people, not be too noisy, and serve great food that isn't Indian. (Greek, Turkish, Thai are all fine).
HAS ANYONE BEEN TO WENTE VINEYARD'S RESTAURANT IN LIVERMORE VALLEY
Thanks so much, Ruth. I'm about to make a reservation!
HAS ANYONE BEEN TO WENTE VINEYARD'S RESTAURANT IN LIVERMORE VALLEY
FORGIVE THIS SECOND POST, ( MY HUSBAND AND I WILL BE IN LIVERMORE NEXT WEEK), BUT I JUST FOUND THIS RESTAURANT ONLINE AND AM CURIOUS IF ANYONE HAS EXPERIENCED IT. WORTHWHILE?
Where to have dinner in Livermore Valley?
My husband and I will be in the area for a party next Saturday night, but on our own on Friday evening. We would like someplace that places an emphasis on the local produce, if possible, and would prefer not to drive too far from area. (We want to taste the local wine, too!)
Lunch Near Brooklyn Museum
I will be at the museum with a friend and her daughter, who is on spring break from Rhode Island School of Design. (I grew up in Brooklyn, but haven't been to the museum, or neighborhood, in 30 years). Any place of interest fairly close by? Has anyone eaten in the museum's cafe?
Hostellerie des 3 Forces -- St. Barth
Have you ( or anyone else) returned in the past 2 years? We stayed in Vitet last year, and although H. des 3 Forces would have been convenient, we kept away because the menu posted behind glass out front looked so dingy and stained. I'd love to know if it is still as terrific as what ddavis experienced. (I'll be heading back to Vitet soon:))
If You've Been to St Barths in the Last Few Months, Dinner Recommendations Please?
I apologize for this duplicate - must have clicked twice. Sorry.
If You've Been to St Barths in the Last Few Months, Dinner Recommendations Please?
And, if you have been to L'Isola, is it still terrific? ( My husband and I thought so, but that was 2 years ago).

Bialys Midtown West or Upper West Side?
Thank you all, especially gutsofsteel for the information that Barney Greengrass often gets bialys fresh from Kossar's.

Bialys Midtown West or Upper West Side?
We're new to the neighborhood. Lot's of great smoked fish, but where do we get the bialys to go with it?
Great place for dinner Friday night near National Harbor (or Old Town) that stresses sustainability?
Thank you, katecm. I just made a reservation at Brabo, because Brabo Tasting Room doesn't accept them. Have you been to either recently? Anyone else?

Great place for dinner Friday night near National Harbor (or Old Town) that stresses sustainability?
We will be having a big family Thanksgiving dinner at Gadsby's Tavern in Old Town on Thursday. On Friday, we will be a small group, or maybe even just my husband and me. We are both enthusiastic home cooks and eaters from NYC, and interested in what might be new, exciting - just plain great. It can be back in Old Town, or around National Harbor (and area I'm not familiar with) or within (reasonable) driving distance. Thanks!
Looking for great croissants midtown or upper west side
Thank you all for these excellent suggestions. We are very close to Petrossian and Time Warner, although La Bergamote is definitely worth a try as well! And Silver Moon will make a nice Sunday AM morning walk!

We just moved to Columbus Circle area, and love croissants with our Sunday Times. Where to go?
HAS ANYONE BEEN TO ST. BARTHS OVER 2009/2010 THE HOLIDAYS?
Thanks so much, I just checked your recommendation. However, I was surprised that The Wall House was rated so highly. It was our most disappointing experience last year. ( Our favorite was L'Isola.)
HAS ANYONE BEEN TO ST. BARTHS OVER 2009/2010 THE HOLIDAYS?
We are arriving next weekend, and welcome suggestions. Last years favorites would be great too - we haven't been on the island since March, 09.
Thanks!
Kampa Park Prague: Wonderful or Not?
My husband, father-in-law,brother, and I will be visiting Prague for the first time this fall. My brother wants to eat at Kampa Park, but I have read different things about it. I don't mind how much a restaurant charges if it is terrific, but truly hate places that overcharge based on view, or timeworn reputation. We only have 3 nights in the city -- so, has anyone been there recently? And, any other suggestions would be appreciated.
Good crudo in Manhattan other than Esca?
I mentioned this on another post: Marea has a nice crudo selection ( choice of 3 for $21.00; very small portions) I had them the other night and thought they were excellent. They also have a raw bar - but I can't comment on that yet.
