Where to watch NFL games in montreal?

To Clarify I am more concerned with the TV quality and being able to see/hear the games over the crappy bar food. I'm eating at Au Pied de Cochon later that night, so i am going to want to save my appetite.

Are there bars that have satellite and the NFL package, so I am assured getting the game I want, not just the featured game on national TV?

Where to watch NFL games in montreal?

I will be in Montreal during the weekend of 9/16 staying at the W. I'm looking for a bar/restaurant that will have the Giants vs. Tampa game on (game starts at 1pm). I'm not expecting great food, but a decent beer list would be nice.

Thanks in advance and Go Giants!!!

NYer on first trip to Chicago on a budget

NYer on first trip to Chicago on a budget

Will be staying at the Westin River North Aug 15-18.

I am looking to try the famous Chicago deep dish pizza & a good Chicago dog, among other things. Willing to travel a bit as long as spots are near an L station.

Also really interested in finding some excellent soul food (Fried chicken, rib tips, oxtail, etc).

Any other recs for a first timer that you locals would consider a must try would be welcome.

Not looking for anything touristy!!!

Recs for a good bar near my hotel with live music would also be much appreciated.

El Charrito: Taco truck in Stamford. We have arrived!

Got the special today. Pig belly tacos! No, not pork belly, but the actual pig stomach. Amazingly tender and flavorful!!! I'm not usually an organ meat guy, but these were super. They now gently grill scallions and throw them in the tacos, which adds a really nice flavor and crunch.

Nevermind. I read the post above about them closing for the winter.

Looking forward to their return in the spring!!!

Where has El Charrito gone? They have not been there the last few times I drove by.

El Charrito: Taco truck in Stamford. We have arrived!

Hit up El Charrito again for lunch today. had another Carnitas torta that was just as good as the last one (nice to see they consistently put out great food). also tried my first tongue taco. Incredibly moist and flavorful chunks of tongue made for an amazing taco. The "mild' salsa was flavorful and still had a nice little kick.

I really hope the couple running El Charrito have great success. They obviously work very hard, are passionate about what they do, and they turn out an amazing product.

I had the Carne Adobada torta today and was blown away! That place is truly a hidden jem. Perfect pork, tender and juicy with just the right ratio of meat to crisp skin. beans and cheese were both very fresh and the bread was perfectly warmed to give a nice crunch. For $5.00 there is no better "bang for your buck" in Stamford.

Any decent wings near Greenwich, CT?

Vinny's Backyard Bar & Grill in Springdale (on Hope st. across from the Twin Rinks) has the best buffalo wings around.

Westchester to Lake Placid...Eats off of thruway?

Heading up to Lake Placid this weekend and looking for food worthy of stoping for. Would also welcome any recs for the Lake Placid area.

Whole Foods in Stamford ????

I have a friend who works for Whole Foods in their NE corporate office in NJ. I emailed him last week to inquire about the status of the new CT stores and he gave me the following info:

Darien CT - 50,000 sq ft opening date 10/19/2009
Stamford CT - 60,000 sq ft opening date 6/10/2010
Fairfield, CT 60,690 sq ft opening date 11/15/2009

Give Di Mare bakery in stamford a try (behind the springdale train station).

Where to get good baguettes?

Believe it or not the little bakery in the Newfield shopping center in Stamford, Beldoti Bakery, makes an outstanding french baguette. Make sure you specify to the girls behind th counter that you want a french baguette, because they often confuse them with the italian cousin with the softer crust. Also note that they usually run out of the french baguettes by 2pm or so.

Best oyster place in Fairfield County?

This thread now has me craving a Fried Oyster Po Boy. Any chance someone does a decent one in the area?

GREAT pizza in Stamford?

Springdale Pizza on Hope Street is consistently the best pie around.

Decent fried chicken near Stamford, CT

The few places I've tried have been awful. I'd even take some popeye's spicy at this point. Is there any decent fried chicken in or around Stamford?

Help! I need a fix!!!

Pizza in Stamford

I moved to Stamford from NYC 3 years ago. I've found that the best "NYC style" pie is at Springdale Pizza on Hope St. FYI, if you are ordering take out add 5-10 minutes to whatever pops tells you over the phone.

Good dinner near Giants training camp (Albany)

Hitting Giants training camp for an afternoon practice and would love to find a great restaurant in the area. Would prefer something in Albany or just to the south as we will be heading back down to NYC after dinner. More concerned with quality of food than price or cuisine type (only requirement is that the place serves booze). Open to any suggestions...

Thanks in advance...GO BIG BLUE!!!
