local brews especially ipas
I don't know... Maritime, to me, represents the excessively hopped beers that became the cliched calling card of NW beers earlier in the 2000s.
I disagree. Back in the 2000's there were few if any Double IPA's and now there are a ton along with Triple IPA's. I think Maritime's beers are quite well balanced and I applaud them for remaining true to their bewing style for over 20 years now.
Ballard- Restaurant gift certificate for a wedding present
I would be stoked to get a $75 gift certifcate to Ocho.

Looking For Authentic "SOS" In North Seattle Area
The Baranoff on Greenwood has it on the menu.
Post-wedding brunch
We had ours at Anthony's on Shilshole and it was quite nice. I won't tell you how exhausted I was after the wedding but everyone who was there had a good time.
This just in: Alligator Soul in Everett out of business
That is a bummer as I loved their fried chicken gumbo. It used to be packed in there and next to impossible to get in on a Friday or Saturday night. Damn.
Favorite Teriyaki Joint?
A second vote for Osaka Teriyaki on 2nd & Pine. We have always referred to it as "Needle Exchange Teriyaki" as the old needle exchange was right next door. Great deal for $5.50 and the ladies who run it are nice as well.

Deli sandwich in Seattle?
I always get a sandwich when I am picking up wine at Pete's in Eastlake. Nothing fancy but they are cheap and they remind me of the deli sandwiches of my youth.

Looking for fun, un-stuffy, Italian style Trattoria in SEA
No pizza but we have always had great food and service at Brad's Swingside in Fremont. More or less across the street from the Buckaroo. We have been going there for over a decade now and have never had a bad meal. Super nice folks to boot.

Where Are the Best Wine Shops in Seattle or Eastside?
I have always enjoyed the Vineyard on Greenwood in Seattle. Wine tastings every Wednesday and a palate that I can trust.

<sea> hatch green chile
I bought fresh Hatch New Mexican Green Chile at the QFC in University Village on Sunday. I was a bit skeptical but man were they good and boy was it nice out to sit out by the bbq with a beer while roasting chiles. Does anyone know if they will carry them again?
Best Onion Rings In Seattle?
The smoked onion rings at the Jolly Roger are the best that I have had in town. Curious to hear of other spots that have good rings as I have been unable to find anything half as good as the rings at the Taproom.
Where can I find a whole pig in Seattle?
Also in Ballard is Better Meats, they can get you a whole pig.
Best place to buy a steak (SEA)
Try Better Meats in Ballard as they cut everything to order. It is more of a Wholesale type of place but they guys are super friendly and I really like their 360 day corn finished rib eyes.

Good fish monger in Seattle?
I have always been a fan of the Fresh Fish Market. Super nice people and if something isn't good at the moment you will not see in their cases. Great housemade shrimp cakes, crab cakes, smoked salmon etc. The first time I ever went razor clamming this is the place that showed me how to clean them and prepare them. Super nice folks and some of the best fish around IMHO.

Chefs/restaurants in Seattle that "feel the heat"
If you can find a seat the Jolly Roger Taproom at Maritime Pacific Brewery has some very good fiery food. The chef is hot foods fanatic so if you would like something especially hot just ask him.

Buying a half hog
$250 is what I paid for the pig and I paid $75 to get it over here. My guess is you would be looking at 3 bills for the pig itself. Heath is a super nice guy and would be more than willing to answer any questions you might have. His bacon was just menitoned as one of the top ten food items in the state of WA though so you may want to jump sooner rather than later as it is only going to get more expensive.

Buying a half hog
The butcher charged $162.50 for his handy work and for smoking/curing everything and it was $75 to get it to Seattle and keep it in cold storage for a week. So far we have had smoked pork chops and bacon both of which were divine. Some ground pork will be going into tonight's ragu and I have a reason now to be excited about Easter being early this year.

(SEA) Fish and Chips
I have always liked Jack's Fish Spot, get the halibut when it is fresh and enjoy a great lunch counter experience.

Buying a half hog
Around 100 pounds. Will post more once I get the bill from the butcher and get a chance to try some of the meat.

Buying a half hog
Wooly Pigs is the way to go as you can get a whole or half and have it processed as much or as little as you like. When I ordered my half from here I got to tell the butcher exactly how I wanted my pig. My half cost $250 but I have not yet gotten the bill from the butcher so it will be more than that but I am really looking forward to getting our pig.

Best Seattle McCormick's Choice?
We actually had our company Christmas party at Harborside and it was surprisingly good. I would actually go back as the food was very good as was our waiter.

Tai Tung
Tai Tung rocks and I try to make it there for lunch once a week or so. Roast duck won ton mein for $7 is a great meal on a cold and wet Seattle day. Sit at the bar and enjoy an old piece of Seattle while it lasts.

Dining alone Fri Night in Seattle?
I have had some very nice solo meals at Union as well, their bar menu is a terrific value. I also enjoy solo meals at Le Pichet and Cafe Campagne.
