I went completely off board, but ended up going to MURAKAMI on Wilcox just north of Hollywood. They were really nice people and the sushi was so fresh! I was SHOCKED at how fresh and melt in your mouth good it was. I was really hungry and got a bowl topped with fish and a roll, and I couldn't eat it all (big guy, bug appetite). Don't expect the bowls to be piled up with fish, but it is definitely a fair amount for the price. I think its all the rice that was filling. I will go back there again and again. Parking does suck though.

Hi. I'm being a nice auntie and taking a 4 and a 6 year old to see Shrek on Saturday. We will need to eat beforehand and these kids definitely have a kid's palate: pizza, mac+cheese, noodles, etc. I would, of course, rather eat a fresh organic plate of deliciousness. hi - recently transplanted from los angeles to the west village and i seem to have the following problem every day: its getting to be lunch time and im getting to be hungry. for sushi. any suggestions on a reasonable yet delicious sushi place that will deliver to west 4th and 7th ave? ive tried a few (go sushi and something else i dont remember the name of) but all end up being fairly dissappointing. my stomach and i thank you.

I used to think that the best sandie in LA was at Black Dog Coffee on Wilshire. Multi seeded baguette (one of the seeds lavender and amazing) pesto, turkey, cranberry. I had one a few months ago that was pretty bad. Yesterday I tried one last time and it was DRY and the bread was OLD and it was permanently knocked off my list. I will try Larchmont Wine and Cheese today to see if it has moved to first place (always held a very firm second). My third was Cafe Tropical in Silverlake - pressed Cuban turkey. Delicious. The point of this email - where else is the best sandwich in LA? Just in case all my favorites fail me!

Hello. I'm looking for CHEAP (think student budget) sushi that will not kill you in Hollywood or within a 15 minute drive. I'm from Vancouver where all sushi is delicious and you pay $4 for 2 pieces of toro. The prices here are killing me which is unfortunate since I crave it every day.
