Nota Bene - Amazing experience yet again - review + pics

I went to Nota Bene tonight. The food was excellent but the service was poor (waiter was slow, disinterested and had to be waved down) and the hostess rude. While I understand the need to make sure tables turn, I found the hostess unprofessional (she came to our table twice to inform us we had only 2 hours and 1.5 hours left before she needed the table). About 20 minutes before "she needed the table", we had finished our main course and our waiter cleared the table, proceeded to ignore us for 10 mins, then came to our table with our bill (never asked if we wanted coffee) and informed us that the hostess had told us she needed the table at 8.00 p.m. so there was no time for coffee/dessert and left the bill on the table. Never have I experienced such attitude. Again, I understand the need to turn tables, but I think there is a way to do it that doesn't spoil the mood and experience. We all agreed that while we loved the food, we would never return.

Out of towners - Ladies looking for fun and trendy latin restaurants/lounges

Thank you so much for the suggestions...I am torn between some of the great spots. It just means that there will be a couple of long nights in the city trying to make it to all the great locations. Oh well!

Thanks again everyone.

Out of towners - Ladies looking for fun and trendy latin restaurants/lounges

We are two ladies (mid 30s) visiting NYC this weekend (Aug. 7-9). We are looking for fun, nice ambiance (energy) and trendy restaurants and lounges with latin food, music, and dancing. A friend suggested Rayuela (dinner) or Son Cubano (dinner and dancing).

We are staying downtown but very flexible with location and pricing.

Any suggestions would be highly appreciated. Thanks.
