How to remove rust stains from kitchen sink?
My husband placed two cookie racks in the sink one night. When I moved the racks the following day to wash them, I found that the racks had transferred orange rust marks onto our stainless steel sink. I didn't even know that the racks were rusting! Is there any way to remove the marks? Thanks in advance for your tips.
Pesto changes color when mixed with tuna?
Last night, I mixed a couple tablespoons of store-bought pesto sauce with two cans of tuna (drained). I wanted to make a sandwich with the mixture. When I took it out today, the color of the pesto had completely changed from vibrant green to an awful gray. Is there a reaction that occurs between pesto and tuna that I didn't know about? I got this "recipe" idea from the latest issue of Real Simple magazine.

Do teapot warmers work?
LOL It's never occurred to me to try boiling anything else in it! But it's so handy just for water. I used to have the Zojirushi water heater, but I didn't use *that* much hot water and wasn't sure if it was ok to leave water in the heater for 2-3 weeks. So I made the switch to Braun and have never regretted it!
Do teapot warmers work?
I know this doesn't really answer your question, but like liu I also have the electric Braun pot. I've had it for about 3 years and it's been really useful.

I have cabinet space, but I still keep in on the counter because it is just too heavy for me to move around!
Favorite Barefoot Contessa Recipes?
I really like the Lobster Roll recipe from Barefoot Contessa Parties. I always substitute the lobster with cooked shrimp, and the sandwiches have gotten rave reviews.

Kitchenaid Artisan Mixer vs. Kitchenaid Professional
I checked the price on the 5-quart Artisan, and it appears that the $30 increase has already taken place at some places? I looked at BB&B a few weeks ago, and it was selling online for 269.99 for all colors. Now it is 299.99 for all colors. Interestingly, Amazon has different prices depending on the color.
Rice Cookers
I also recommend the Zojirushi rice cookers. My parents had one (made in Japan) and it has worked well for many years. In my own household now, I have the Neuro Fuzzy 5 cup cooker (also made in Japan). I couldn't really speak to the Japan vs. China difference, but my parents seemed to believe strong that the ones made in Japan are superior. Perhaps it's just a bias that isn't tied to any concrete evidence? Hope you find one you like.
living dangerously--just how expired can it be and still be edible?
Generally, I will eat leftovers up to 5 days. However, I've read that leftovers should be tossed after 3 days. I am really iffy about mold, though, so if I see even a little bit of mold I throw the entire thing out.

I would vote for Koi Palace. Ton Kiang is okay too, but I've always liked eating at Koi a little bit more.

My slow cookers. I have two -- one that I bought and one that I received as a gift. Perhaps I haven't found the "right" recipes, but I haven't had any success with meals I've cooked in the crockpot.
Butterscotch chip cookie recipe
I bought a package of butterscotch chips with the intent of making cookies. I assumed that there would be a butterscotch chip recipe on the back, but there wasn't. Could I just use any chocolate chip recipe and substitute with butterscotch chips, or would I need to make an adjustment with the sugar? Thanks in advance!

What I'm planning to research is whether a physical Linens N Things store would be willing to special order the mixer in Tangerine, apply the 20% off coupon, and not charge me shipping. In this case I would pay sales tax, but with the current $20 rebate offer from KitchenAid, I would end up paying a total of about $212.
I called Bed Bath and Beyond already, and was told that some store managers are willing to special order, use the coupon, and waive shipping. However, the rebate form from KitchenAid has a statement that says it "does not apply to Bed Bath and Beyond and Lowe's stores." Not sure exactly what that means -- I've put in an email to KitchenAid already. Will keep you posted...
