Another Lake Tahoe trip, this time North You missed the best North Lake Tahoe has to offer. The Old Range Steakhouse in Tahoe City is the best steakhouse west of Chicago, Soule Domaine at the Stateline and Moody's in Truckee are absolutely first rate. Finally, Pfeiffer House in Tahoe City has wonderful German food. |

...And the worst restaurant in Chicago is.... If the Italian Village is the same one that I remember from about 1953, it has been bad for a long time. And it is great that I, a California resident and long time visitor to Chicago, could have eaten and agree with the analysis of Gene and Georgetti and Gale Street Inn. |

The Carriage House in South Bend is a wonderful place with excellent food and service. You won't go wrong. |

Fresno dining help: short on time; near Convention Center/Selland Arena... Sam's. Absolutely wonderful barbeque. I have no idea how far from the Convention Center. |

Restaurants in Truckee or Tahoe City [moved from the SF board] CB's in Carnelian Bay is very family friendly. Pizza, sandwiches and salads as well as entre's and specials. Las Panchitas in Kings Beach is good for Mexican. There are a number of really good pricey dinner houses that I can give you if you want. Maybe the best is Moody's in Truckee. |

A super Mexican frequented by the horsemen used to be Tony's Jackal. I am relatively sure that it is still around. |

I am a newcomer to this site and thoroughly enjoy it.I have been unable to find many restaurants that get good or better reviews on this site even mentioned in Zagat. An example is the Red Apple. Another is Moody's. There must be a reason---good or bad. Or is it that Zagat is just a touch uppity? Thanks in advance for your thoughts. |

I live in Lake Tahoe but have spent a good deal of time in Chicago. We are travelling with friends to Chicago in October and while I have my own favorites I would appreciate ideas for Greek, Pizza, Hamburgers, Jewish deli and finally whether the Red Onion serves beer and wine. Thanks in advance. |
