Where's a nice, inexpensive, romantic place to have dinner?

What about Pipa? There is a very romantic vibe and the food is great (tapas/shared plates).

What do you recommend for tonight?? Maialino or Beauty & Essex?

If you can get a reservation, definitely Beauty & Essex. It's a much more memorable night than Maialino!

Rare night-out date suggestion please

How about a tapas restaurant, like Pipa (Gramercy/Chelsea) or Malaga (upper east)? There is a fun scene at both restaurants and you can manage your budget easily.

Abe & Arthurs or Bagatelle?

Why do you say it's a disaster? I have been there once before and it was overwhelmingly crowded but I got the feeling that it would be more fun than A&A??

Fig & Olive-Fifth Avenue Thoughts?

How about Quality Meats or Monkey Bar? They are both very close to the Peninsula Hotel

Need to find a Great Restaurant in NYC for a Wedding reception for 30 people - anyone have any recommendations?

If you don't need a private room you should look into Avra.

Dinner on Upper East Side

I second Geisha. Also, if you want amazing Italian you should try Scalinatella.

Intimate bday dinner for fiance

Any suggestions? Want to keep it to under $100 per person if possible. Anywhere in Manhattan. Thanks!

Upper West Side, cool spots and tasty food on a low budget

Kashkaval (sp?) is inexpensive and very delicious, although they do not take reservations so you would probably have to wait for a table.

What to order at Pampano?

I have been there once and will never go back. Definitely sub-par and overpriced. Is Pampano definitey where he will be going or can he change his reservation to somewhere else

Ideas for Rehearsal Dinner in Manhattan - any type of food, <$100 per person (including alcohol)?

90th Birthday Party

I attended a rehearsal dinner at Cibo a few months ago and I agree that the food was not memorable, but it was a great atmosphere and there was plenty of space to mingle.

Sushi near E 60s

I was going to recommend Sushi Seki also. Very fresh & delicious - but they don't have liquor (only wine/beer/sake) if that is an issue.

Del Posto Tonight

It's kind of hard to describe, but he reserved the wine cellar for a private dinner and the proposal was on the actual menu :) I am a lucky girl

Lobster Mac n Cheese

Capitol Grille - sooo good

Del Posto Tonight

Fyi - my (now) fiancee proposed to me over dinner that night and the menu was prearranged, so I guess I didn't need advice in the first place!!

Del Posto Tonight

Anything not to miss??

Double date recc for next Sat - Gramercy and south

Gemma has a fun/young/sophisticated/rustic atmosphere, and is close to the Hudson Hotel which can be fun for after dinner drinks/people watching.

HELP PLEASE! Dinner tomorrow near East 38th Street

I could not agree with you more. I can sometimes be very particular about food preparation / options and I have never had a bad experience at Sams Place

Plan My Healthy Foodie's Dream Day in NYC

If I were you, I would skip Energy Kitchen and Pump (they are take-out type places) and visit Josie's and Rouge Tomate (might be a ilttle above your price range, but from what I have heard it's worth it)

Scarpetta Last Night

Sorry, but what is DH? I havent been able to figure it out and it's driving me crazy! Thanks :)

Restaurant/Bar w/ an Activity

Crocodile Lounge has skee ball and other arcade games - and free pizza :)

Romantic Recession Friendly Restaurants?

Maybe you could try a tapas / small plates restaurant like Inoteca or Boqueria?

Chic-Sushi-17 year olds-NYC feel

Matsuri in the Maritime Hotel. or Morimoto (close to meatpacking)
