3 Theater Meals
Going to see three plays in 2 days and need some lunch/dinner recommendations.
Going to see A Life in the Theater at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theater on Sept. 28th at 8, then La BĂȘte on the 29th at the Music Box Theater at 2 pm and finally Brief Encounter at Studio 54 Theater the same night at 8.
Give me the scoop on where to go for dinner, lunch and dinner on those 2 days please. Not super crazy expensive as I'm going to Eleven Madison Park on the 28th for dinner if that gives you any indication on the type of food I like!

Any early feedback about EMP's new format??
Okay - after reading all of the posts and reviews...I made my reservation at EMP this morning for Sept. 27th at 9:15. This is going to be my big dinner splurge on my trip the last week of this month.
EMP Lately?
I'm debating whether to make a dinner reservation for my trip the last week of September. I'm on a waiting list for Per Se and will probably not get in. Should I try EMP? I really want to hear from someone who has been since it reopened. In a food quandary!

8 Days of Eating in NYC
Thanks for all the great ideas. I'm coming from about an hour outside of Toronto and this isn't my first trip to NYC but it's been 2 years since I've been there and have 8 days there this time which is far more than I normally do so I intend to eat my way through the city!
8 Days of Eating in NYC
Not that I want to plan my trip around food, but I really think I'm going to...Really need to narrow down my restaurant lists....I'll be in NYC from Sept. 23-30 and I'm staying in the East Village and would love to get a list of local places.
I'm on a wait list for Per Se and am thinking EMP as my back up for my one really expensive dinner.
Debating between Mario Batali restaurants or Daniel Bolud for another meal.
On my list of want to try....
Amy Ruth's
Momofuku (not sure which one)
Rhong-Tiam Express
Falai Panatteria
Chickaliscious
Blue Smoke
Katz's (only because every time I've been to NYC I've never been and am staying around the corner from it)
On the 25th, we're going to a Red Sox/Yankees game and would love to go to a restaurant in the Bronx.
I love good food whether it's from a hole in the wall or a higher end restaurant. I know everybody has different ideas but I've always gotten some great ideas from these boards so I know that you'll not steer me wrong!
I would love to go to a really great Italian restaurant while I'm here. I'll be doing pizza quite a bit - (Grimaldi's has been my nemesis in that every time I've been to NYC, something has stopped me from getting in there but not this time!) and have been to Lombardi's, Joe's and John's over the years.
I have 8 days of eating to do on this trip and tend to take advantage of every minute of it!

If you were going to splurge....
I'm going to be in town in September and want to go to one very high end restaurant during the trip as I've not been able to do that on previous trips. I love good food. Of all kinds. I might be going by myself as the rest of my friends aren't foodies like me but I've said "the heck with them" and am going to plan one amazing dinner out on my own.
So....if you had to choose....what would it be? Per Se? A Mario Batali restaurant? A Daniel Boulud restaurant....or one of many others that I know are in town.
I welcome all your suggestions and tips.

Yorkville Restaurant
Looking for a restaurant in the Yorkville area for October 17th to celebrate my first anniversary. We're staying at the Windsor Arms and wonder what might be the best place to go? Should we stay in and eat at Prime in the restaurant or walk up the street to Yorkville? Definitely looking for something in walking distance.
Road Trip through California
We're flying into San Francisco on March 6th and then immediately driving out headed to Yosemite for a few days, down to Sequoia and King's County and then over to the coast around Santa Barbara and then heading up the coast and ending the trip back in San Francisco. We'll be travelling for 15 days.
We're from Canada and haven't been to California before. The goal of the trip is to just drive and end up where we end up so we're not making any reservations. However, I am doing research to make sure we don't miss anything we want to see.
Regarding restaurants, I need some ideas. We love food. We love all types of restaurants from greasy, amazing hole-in-the-walls to a good steakhouse, to ethnic food, to you name it, if it's we good, we'll like it. We like to find unique, local finds as well. We can't break the bank but it doesn't all have to be cheap.
I know this is a really broad request but would really love a list of favourites that are just too good to miss. Thanks for your help!
Okay, I'm going to admit that I can't wait to get to Pinkberry (discovered it in NYC) and really want to try In 'N Out Burger. On the opposite side, I'd love to go to Chez Panisse but not sure if DH could handle it (nor our wallet!).
Honeymoon in Boston
We're old (40 & 41) and have been together a long time. As much as it's nice to think about not leaving the hotel room, we'll probably still want to see the sights! But good delivery on Newbury is always a good plan! Thanks for the tips.
Honeymoon in Boston
We're coming to Boston on October 21st for 5 days for our honeymoon and are in need of some good restaurant ideas. We're staying on Newbury St. and will not be renting a car but relying on public transportation. We like good food, all different kinds of ethnic food, and one of us (me) will be wanting good seafood while the other hates it. We have a decent budget to spend although we wouldn't want to go crazy every night. Help us please!
Upper West Side
We've had to move the apartment we're renting in 2 weeks from the East Village to the Upper West Side so I need some new restaurant ideas. Staying on W 107th St at Broadway. We like all types of food at all price ranges. As long as it's good food. All ideas are welcome!
Brunch in the Village
I've been reading post after post of amazing restaurant ideas and can't wait to arrive in NYC in 2 weeks for my bachelorette party. It's going to be 5 days of eating and shopping. We're staying in the East Village and I'm looking for some great brunch places. And dinner restaurants. I've gotten some great ideas so far but can always use more. Thanks.
