Suggestion in RIVERSIDE? PLEASE- I am VISITING!
Grew up in Riverside. If it's something quick and easy you need, you gotta hit D'Elia's Grinders on University Ave (near UCR). The best sandwiches in town (oooh that bread!).
For Mexican, try Zacatecas (also on University Drive).. total hole in the wall and it's been there forever.. lot of cops eat there. Anchos is good if you like Southwest Mexican fare. Never been to Duane's.. only very rich people and tourists eat there.
Poutine in OC???
Anyone know of a place where I could get good Poutine (french fries with cheese, and gravy) just like in Montreal? Would even drive out to LA for this. thanks.
Deep Fried Ice Cream
El Torito has it. Its not that bad, actually. But I would keep on looking for other smaller restaurants that might make it.
downhill alert - OC - Mirabeau Bistro
Went to Mirabeau Bistro tonight with a friend... looked on the menu and we ordered the cheese plate. It was 6pm. I swear to God they told us, "We have no cheese, in fact there's a lot of things on the menu we don't have, either."
How embarrasing! This used to be such a NICE, wonderful restaurant. It is still beautiful, but what's going on over there? Their bartender was really nice, so we stayed for a glass of the Vine Cliff cab and took off to Salt Creek Grill for dinner nearby.
What do you like on your fries?
Depends on what's available. If I'm in a nice restaurant then lemon and maybe some salt. McDonalds fries I typically eat just with salt. oooh fries. mmmm!
